Known for adding a flavour of laughter to the films he has featured in, actor Varun Sharma says he is not scared of getting pigeonholed in the comedy space.
Varun Sharma, who is fondly remembered as his character name Choocha, made his debut in Bollywood in 2013 with the film Fukrey. He later featured in films like Dolly Ki Doli, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon, Raabta and Fukrey Returns.

"I am not scared of getting typecast. It is always good to be cast in films with good stories and content, made by such amazing banners and directors. For an actor it's a task to work in films like these. So to be typecast, comes much later," the Fukrey actor told the publication.
The actor says the comedy genre has given him a lot of love.

With four films in his kitty and a quiz show on a digital platform, Fukrey?famed Bollywood actor Varun Sharma says this is an exciting year for him as he is not only exploring different characters in movies but also other avenues like anchoring and becoming a wholesome entertainer.
Varun's first digital non-fiction show "Bollywood Buzzinga" started streaming on Ott platform Mx Player earlier this month. He anchors the show.
Talking about the new role, Varun told Ians here: "Of course I am an actor but I consider myself as an entertainer as well. While acting is a passion, hosting is fun. I always had an interest in hosting, and earlier I (have) hosted a few award shows as well. Hosting a game show is quite interactive and non-fictional shows are a part of entertainment."
"So in a way whether I am acting or hosting, I am entertaining my audience.

Fry Day
Starring Govinda, Varun Sharma, Prabhleen Sandhu, Digangana Survanshi
Directed by Abhishek Dogra
At last, Govinda has a blast. And so, I must confess, do we. Fry Day is a surprisingly palatable marital comedy with some really funny throwaway lines, and of course the actors’ comic timing which goes a long way in supplanting a certain sparkle to even some of the potentially stiff scenes.
Stagey and saucy, this is a play-on-film with most of the events unfolding on one location. And yet director Abhishek Dogra (remember his wacked-out Sonam Kapoor-helmed comedy Dolly Ki Doli?) keeps the pace on a leash, never letting the overwrought characters go out of the playing field even when the ball is not in their court.
This comedy on infidelity, last seen conveying a smiliar swerve into the vista of verve in B R Chopra’s Pati Patni Aur Woh, stars Govinda as Gagan,...

Neerja has scored, and how! Once the promo of the film was unveiled, it was quite apparent that this was a dark horse waiting to be unleashed. Then a fortnight before the film’s release, industry testimonials started coming in, which made one supremely curious around what was in the offing. Yes, considering the fact that many a film these days have such glorious coming its way, with or without the merits (as was the case with Fitoor just a week ago), one took it all with a pinch of salt. Still, there was hope that something terrific was on the cards.
Well, this happened on the day of release as well once the gates were opened for ‘aam junta’. The ‘asli awaaz’ was heard then and it made a lot of noise right through the weekend. The film managed to bring in 22.01 crore over the weekend and with that...

As expected, amongst the three new releases it was Khamoshiyan that took the lead at the box office. The film had decent collections in the territories where it was expected to perform (basically the mass centers). On the other hand Hawaizaada was the most expensive of the lot but it just couldn’t take off. As for Rahasya, it could not just make its presence felt due to low screen count and poor show timings. Ironically, it managed better reviews amongst the three films.
Made at a moderate budget of 15 crore, Khamoshiyan should manage recovery as the film’s budget (including marketing) is mere 11 crore. With 7.5 crore already in through satellite and music rights, the film needs to recover just 3.5 crore more. In that aspect, Bhatts and Fox are pretty much enjoying a comfortable outing as around 7 crore have come in after the first weekend.

It was expected that the coming together on Baby and Dolly Ki Doli would heat up the box office on Friday itself, considering the kind of credentials involved. Though there were no fireworks per se on the opening day as both films didn’t really go on to set the box office on fire, the good part was that the reviews were good. This meant that for the four day long weekend, the Akshay Kumar as well as Sonam Kapoor starrer went on to show jump in collections on a day by day basis.

Dolly Ki Doli is happening. But what about Sonam Kapoor who plays Dolly? When would she find the right man to settle down with?
Apparently Sonam's mentor Sanjay Bhansali who introduced her in Saawariya is very concerned about this.
Speaking from Dubai where she is attending her new film's premiere Sonam says, "Sanjay Sir keeps harping on the subject of my marriage. 'When will you get married? How will you get married when you don't have the time to find the right person?' He keeps reminding me. But the truth is, right now I really don't have space in my life for a relationship. Not that anyone would know when I do have someone in my life. I like to keep my personal life to myself."

A serial con-bride Dolly, and her gang, capitalise on all things that are severely problematic about the Indian sentiments regarding marriage. They dupe foolish grooms, and their families, through some very plausible tricks. Namely, making sure the pair are astrologically compatible, pleasing to the mother-in-law’s whims and making a buffoon of a groom believe that he deserves a catch like Dolly. This is perhaps the ‘intelligent’ part of Dolly Ki Doli. Everything else is anything but.
We’re given a snippet of an insight into Dolly’s psyche but apparently the writer’s didn’t think their central character and her back-story warranted any screen time. Seeing as Dolly herself is never revealed to the audience, to ask for a backstory for her gang is far fetched, let alone question how they came to being a con-bridal-party. To add to the complications of the writing, there is also a...

Dolly Ki Doli is set for release on the weekend leading to Republic Day and its producer Arbaaz Khan is cool as ever. With a stable head over his shoulders, Arbaaz is gearing up for the release of his third film as a producer. While Salman Khan starrers Dabangg and Dabangg 2 proved to be blockbusters no less, Dolly Ki Doli is Arbaaz’s first film to boast of a female (Sonam Kapoor) as the central protagonist.

2015 is finally set to have a mighty weekend ahead, what with Baby and Dolly Ki Dolly arriving at the box office. Though there were hopes from Tevar to take a fabulous start, it wasn’t the case to be. However, both Baby and Dolly Ki Doli are carrying good vibes that should bring audience back in theaters.
Let us begin with Baby. The film is carrying very positive reports and those who have seen it already vouch for it to be one of the classiest thrilling entertainers to have come out of Bollywood. The combination of Akshay Kumar and Neeraj Pandey (after Special 26) has ensured that the film stays on news for all the right reasons. There is good deal of positivity around the film and since it comes at the time when terrorism is showing its ugly face in many parts of the world, Baby couldn’t have been more topical.

After releasing two dhamakedaar songs from Dolly Ki Doli, the makers are all set to release the 3rd song which is titled ‘Babaji Ka Thullu’.
What we hear is that for this song, Sonam Kapoor left no stone unturned and went to great lengths to make sure that the song comes out perfectly.
A source close to the team said, “The song is very funky and it required the actors to do some unusual steps. When Sonam heard the song and saw the steps she was so excited that she immediately started practicing to get the steps perfect. In fact everyone present on the sets was having so much fun that they finished the entire song at a stretch in just one day.”
Well, after hearing how much fun the actors had on the sets during the shooting we cannot wait to see the song!
