Gen RX Review
jackberigan2 November 2015
This film reminds me a lot of a Maze Runner, Divergent or even The Hunger Games Series. It has the action with the same adventure feel that encapsulates you the minute the film begins. The story line is extremely interesting, set in the future, I love how it's about somewhat of a rebellion. It reminded me a lot of Ray Bradbury's books or even 1984 by George Orwell. I think the overall concept of the film would make a first rate television series. The characters are people that I would want to tune into each week and learn more and more about their different identities. Plus John Taschner created a very compelling futuristic society which would work well in a week to week story.

Orwellian Journey Into a Brave New World
stanfordball18 February 2015
Gen RX and Hunger Games are more than youth-oriented films reaching a large swath of moviegoers, as dystopian styled films provide critical escape from our daily worries. Gen RX presents a compelling story about the current state of society, joining the pantheon of thought provoking films commenting on the deep thoughts and concerns of the masses. Gen RX stimulates the eye and mind, and transports the audience down an emotional highway of human solutions to problems of our modern age. More than just an entertaining film, Gen RX is story of humanity and behavior that speaks to a collective consciousness.

Dystopian stories like Gen RX are increasingly popular and celebrated in world films for a reason...they are entertaining and dig into the mind. Gen RX is a an Orwellian journey about the needs of humanity and the desire for personal freedom. Rather than a negative story about the darkness and self-fulfilling prophesies that are so characteristic of doom entertainment, the film is a well-executed telling of collective existence. Well cast and powerfully staged, Gen RX presents an intense performance by Canadian Melissa Elias showing extraordinary range. Gen Rx is a provocative and important dystopian thriller.

Must Watch!!

Warning: Spoilers
Gen Rx is a thrilling, thought-provoking film by John Taschner - a burgeoning young talent in the industry. As a writer, director, and producer, John puts his many talents on display in bringing this cautionary Dystopian tale to life. The film follows Sarah, an independent young woman, who refuses to comply with the government's overbearing mandate that each citizen must swallow their daily pill. Sarah comes across as rebellious, yet likable; a three- dimensional protagonist that is as complicated as the socially bankrupt world she inhabits.

I would highly recommend Gen RX. John Taschner is a force to take note of and I cannot wait to see his next release!

A Compelling and Promising Start for a Young, Talented Filmmaker.

Working with John on the Set of GenRx was a great insight into the filmmakers of the future. Natural talent combined with USC schooling make John a formidable force in story telling and scenery. GenRx is a tale that challenges perception and never drops pace. This should be converted into a feature immediately! The Talent that was brought on for this project was top notch and perfectly cast, and work on location with John and his team was amazing. few film students have such a grounding in how to tell stories especially in the action genre. John's work is much more than the tactical militant fantasies or VFX exercises often seen at this level of SciFi/Action production. With the right team and budget, Johns work will be seen and appreciate by the world over. I'd certainly be excited to work with John again.

My Review of Gen RX
Stephenlamm1 November 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I just watched this film with my brother and we were both astounded by it's quality. The story is totally compelling and we were left wanting more. SPOILER ALERT *** the film ends on a cliffhanger and we both could not stop talking about all the places the story might go. For an 8-minute short, this film definitely packs a punch, touching upon several socially relevant issues of our day and age (government control, freedom of speech, health care, etc.). The characters and story are rich, and the production succeeds across the board. I would love to see this short film developed further into a feature-length, or even a mini-series, if possible. There's plenty of potential.

Social Awareness and Great Stroytelling = Cinema at its Finest!

Simply sensational! I can't believe this deeply thrilling drama was manifested within 2 weeks! John Taschner is a modern marvel. It's rare a short film to receive an award from a foreign government or any government, but this crafty film really deserved it! Truly thought-provoking cinema seems to be the director's wheelhouse, as I gathered from his filmography (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm4426985/) that he is a film maker with a vision of changing the world for the better; now that showcases a quality of director and artistic soul that touches the highest echelon of artistic expression. Oh, how I adored doe-eyed Miss Melissa Marie Elias' depiction of the rebel with a cause. All I can say about this film without giving too much of the gem away is that I can't wait for more of this level of quality art/film!
