Plot Summary

Matthias has finally arrived: not only that he will soon be taking up his position in Regensburg as the new administrator of the Walhalla. He has also decided to spend the rest of his life with the cheerful flight attendant Diana. The two are floating in seventh heaven. It was she who gave him new courage to face life after a long crisis; she helped his shattered self-confidence back on track. Because there was Lily: Back in high school, when emotions were running high, Matthias believed that he would never be able to love another woman as much as his attractive schoolmate. That was 25 years ago, the consuming desire remained unfulfilled and he was left with a broken heart. And now, on his wedding day, the potential groom experiences a big surprise: it is not the originally intended pastor who appears at the altar, but a parish priest who has stepped in without further ado. Matthias can't believe his eyes: it's Lily. She has now dedicated herself to church service and married her former classmate Jan, also an old schoolmate. After the initial shock of this unexpected reunion, Matthias regains his composure and the wedding goes ahead as planned. You've finally grown up - and decide to meet up for dinner in an innocuous group of four. A warm friendship soon develops between everyone involved. Diana has no idea what connects her groom and the good-looking priest, and Jan doesn't worry either. But no matter how hard Matthias fights against it, the deep spark of his former affection still glows, and with every encounter he regains new intensity. Lily also has to realize how attracted she is to Matthias. Finally it happens: the mutual desire is released and both of them get involved in a passionate affair. This has consequences: the four friends meet less and less often, and feelings of guilt and severe remorse weigh on the secret lovers. They must realize that they can no longer behave like teenagers and must face the consequences of their actions. When they finally pour their spouses pure wine, the expected scandal occurs. Diana and Jan are deeply affected. But they react differently than Matthias and Lily expected. Written by ADR Das Erste
