Details. dialogue, drama - all MIA
ahop225 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The acting was mostly poor but the direction and production were what was in witness protection with this movie. The dialogue is downright awful and there are so many details of credulity strained I can't list them it was so non-stop. It takes a well written story to make a compelling movie. This was clearly thrown together and by an apparent amateur to boot.

The concept was potentially interesting, but it fell apart early in the movie. Then the victim turns out to be a second perp, a hitman (woman) who becomes hellbent on beating the other hitman to the target, for no reason but what? Male ego? Good grief.

This is the worst movie I've seen in a good long while.

Watch it and wonder
jasonfoskeyae26 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Ok. So you know how movies can be so bad they're good? This isn't one of those. It's just such a bad movie. I'm from Albuquerque and I wanted to like this movie. After watching it I thought to myself "how could anyone have produced that garbage? How did anyone pay to make that movie?" That writing is lazy and just full of clichés. The plot makes no sense. I mean that in the "real world" the plot makes no sense. There are so many unanswered questions. Why does this drug dealer Rios pay to relocate people? Why is he made about the relocater guy making money on the side by relocating for Other clients. Why does the relocater just let Deangelo's boys put the girl in the trunk? Why the hell was that girl jogging, in the hood, in Albuquerque, that late during that robbery or whatever? Why the hell does the Florist just kill and not stop? Why was the ending left open for Furthest-est Witness? This movie is bad. I should give it -3 stars but I like Albuquerque so I gave it 3 stars based on location. The acting is bad, like middle school play bad. Though I suspect it was the script being so horrible, that made the acting terrible too. Maybe the directing was bad. Please watch the movie and tell me if I got anything wrong in this review. Actually just watch it so I can read other hilarious reviews of it. That movie was a dumpster fire, on a collision course with ten thousand stomped in swamp boxes, on top of a mountain of stink bait. Honestly if this movie was shot found footage style it would have been the worst movie I could have ever imagined. So that is the one good thing. It wasn't shot all artsy and dumb.

Furthest Witness, Witless
LimbleKite22 September 2018
If there's one thing you can count on from a movie maker who doesn't attend to details, it's unbelievability. In one or two cases, these things could be overlooked - after all, it is a movie - but Furthest Witness gives us a full preposterous parade.

This is the tale of Kyle Braddock who hauls people who have seen something they shouldn't have down to the border of Mexico, gives them a new passport, new identify, new money, and bids them farewell to enjoy their new life. He's a contractor of sorts, hired by ruthless gang lords who would rather pay tens of thousands of dollars and let an inconvenient witness live a comfortable life south of the border than take them out into the deserts of New Mexico and give them a 10 cent dose of lead.

Enter the girl, played by Teri Reeves. Kyle gets hired to do his thing, but it turns out she's a bit twisty and off goes the plot to the races. Naturally they fall in love along the way even though there's no chemistry. She even renounces her wicked ways to be with him.

There's plenty of bad guys, but the baddest of the bads is The Florist, played by Sean Patrick Flanery. The problem with his character is that he's stupid. He kills people for no good reason. A kid in a convenience store; a guy who runs a motel. Plus, he leaves them sitting around where they can be found immediately. He even goes into a restaurant to have a chat and a cup of coffee with a slit throat victim outside in his car sitting up in the front seat in broad daylight. He kills a guy in a motel room and then walks out leaving the door wide open.

By the way, if you like motels, this is the flick for you. Lots of motels. Problem is I've been in hundreds of them in my travels and not once did the motel guy tell me "you can pay when you leave". No ID, no car plates, no nothing. Just walk up, say "I want a room" and he hands you the key. That's not the way it works. Ask anybody who has ever taken a road trip.

Speaking of motels and not the way it works, it's also unbelievable that The Florist beats two words out a guy - "Albuquerque... Motel" - and manages to find Kyle and the girl in just a couple moves. Must be at least 97 motels in a town that size.

Verisimilitude. This movie has none. Besides what I've already mentioned, there's cell phones that boot up, dial, and connect in less than a second - and time after time that someone shows up somewhere in pursuit of someone else when the pursuer could not have possibly known where the pursued went. You could say magic GPS I suppose, but it's really just lazy writing and lazy thinking.

2 stars only because I didn't change the channel on this stinker!
just-woot25 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
But loses 8 stars due to poor acting, poor plot (still not sure of what it was about) and poor fight choreography. Non believable characters. Unconvincing relationships. ...Smdh... I really wanted to like it, but it just had nothing to offer. Main bad guy (cant even remember his name, and dont even want to look it up) was trying too hard to portray Mickey Rourke's character from "Sin City". But I'd bet even Rourke would have had a hard time with this script!

FX were awful. Bullet sounds did not correspond to the caliber weapon being fired at the time. Bad timing and execution of blood squibs in body shots. Just made this very hard to watch.

But watch I did. The most painful final 12 minutes of a movie I ever had to bare. I wanted this to end so much so that just kept a literally countdown of minutes left. And this is an hour and 26 minutes of my life I'll never get back.

It's bad

It's real bad. The chick is hot. But she can't act her way out of a wet paper bag. Neither can anyone else in this movie. Bad writing too. Bad all around.

Lame, lame, meh....
MovieIQTest19 September 2018
Sometimes, I really don't understand why people would spend money on such lame screenplay, bought it, and then make it into an even lamer movie. This film is exactly what I said here. Except the 2:35:1 wide screen ratio instead of the regular 16:9 that can give you a wider view of the beautiful wildness sceneries in this film, it didn't and couldn't render you anything more. Mediocre B-movie actors or, shall I say, non-talent actors from a lousy casting job that had to match and meet the limited budget, making this film so lame to keep the viewers focused continuously. That 10/10 "Excellent film" is nothing but an obvious practical joke.

You Made It
mckelynnbmb2 May 2019
When you are climbing out of the Grand Canyon it feels as though you will never reach the end. Furthest Witness has a similar feeling. There is a sense of satisfaction when the end credits begin to roll, you did it. You made it through this awful film. This is no easy film to sit through, but if you can do it you are a champion in my eyes.

It's ... just not good.
nick-9344825 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This script was just extremely poor. I know budgets don't make the movie but this one I don't think would've been good with a huge budget. The story from the word go is unbelievable. What drug dealer/drug boss relocates people instead of burying them in the desert they used for so many scenes?

This was finished and then thrown in the movie bins you see at Wal-Mart.

Every man must make the hard choice
nogodnomasters6 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Might have "plot spoilers" as I explain the plot. I will be gentle. Kyle Braddock (Aaron Stanford) operates a freelance witness protection program using forged documents to give people a new life. The people who get new lives are witnesses of Ramos (Steven Michael Quezada), a good drug dealer who doesn't kill witnesses but pays to relocate them. "Stage Four" Jackson Brady (Forrest Fyre) gets some extra work from D'Angelo (Vincent E. McDaniel ) a bad drug dealer.

Things don't go according to plan. Kyle finds himself on the run with Helena (Teri Reeves) and a harden killer (Sean Patrick Flanery) close behind.

The premise was difficult to believe. It is hard for me to imagine drug dealers paying to relocate people who can witness against them. Film includes short range gun misses. The plot wasn't credible and I couldn't feel for Kyle even when he told his sob stories.

Guide; F-word. Brief sex. No nudity.

How did they blow an interesting premise?
joey_k-740603 May 2019
I was bored and scrolled through available NetFlix movies. I watch the trailer which does have an interesting premise. The movie chronicles the misadventures of a good-hearted man that provides a new life for witnesses to crimes.

So I watch this and kept waiting for it to get interesting but... it never happens. There are quite a few unbelievable scenarios such as this hitman that will kill anyone for even looking at them the wrong way. And it's set in modern times and yet a pay phone is always available. When has anyone ever used a payphone in the past 10 years?

Plus the whole story just is not engaging at all. It's a shame because the premise has a lot of potential.

I gave up after 40 minutes
farleym-1944220 November 2020
I suppose I should watch the entire movie before I make judgements but I could not care a bit about any character. I gave it 40 minutes and I quit. So many bad guys, so few good guys and only one pretty woman. I'd rather watch Donald Trump spray on his tan. I suck at reviewing movies. Some people suck at making them.

Slow start, poor dialog and FOUL
winginsue21 June 2020
This sounded like an interesting story. Started out okay. Not thrilling. Sadly just a few minutes into it, the F bomb gets dropped.... and it goes downhill from there. Stopped after 15 minutes to find something worth watching.

Excited to see it taking place in New Mexico. Brutal production, it's like a handful of dudes borrowed a camera and thought, "let's make a movie". Unwatchable, didn't come close to getting through it.

3 stars and that's being generous. Why the He!! did Flanery think this role was worth the effort, probably why he didn't put any into it effort that is. Started out as an interesting concept but that lasted about 10-15 mins. Don't bother wish I hadn't wasted the time.

Horrible Writing and Hard to Follow
dagny-087779 June 2019
I WANTED to l like this movie since I really enjoyed Aaron in the series "12 Monkeys", but no dice! The plot is really confusing and hard to follow. There are lots of holes in the story and the dialogue feels disjointed--as if it was written as an afterthought. It doesn't even hold its own as a straight-up action flick. I'm kind of bummed I can't get those 90 minutes back. Seriously--don't bother.

O-M-G! Waste of time

Terrible acting. Awful story line. Low budget. For crying out loud, the "dead" guy in the hotel room is still breathing (chest and belly moving up and down). Don't waste your time. Find another movie!

Improbable script, so-so direction
tjpierce-8425326 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
It wants to be Drive--a character-driven thriller about a lone-wolf who gets emotionally involved with one of the subjects on a job--but an improbable, muddled script nixes that possibilility and the director compounds the problem because he doesn't know how to use moments to get us close to the characters.

The script is just an improbable mess. I could buy the premise that a guy helps people disappear from the mob, but, with the help of the mob because, obstensibly, they don't want to be too brutal? Uh, no. You hide from the mob, period.

But it gets worse. Mobster Number One (who routinely hires Mr. Disappear Guy, hereafter MDG) sends a hitman after the hitwoman he hired to kill Mobster Number Two because Mobster Number Two pays MDG to have her disappeared instead of just whacking her. (Such compassionate guys, these mobsters!) What's more, Mobster Number One is mad at MDG because he's working for his competition, and so MDG is fair game, too. Or something--it's hard to keep up with all these logic-defying twists. You see the problem here.

The director doesn't help things by rushing past every opportunity to slow the pace and get us close to his characters. The actors, for the most part, are up to the task, but they aren't given the opportunity, so when the big smoochy clinch arrives it seems to have been shoehorned in out of nowhere. Oh well.

So why did I give it a 10? To cancel a vote of one of yet another large group of knuckleheads who gave it a 1 (think paint drying) for reasons they would be hard-pressed to justify. No, it's not Drive, but it's watchable, if only to see Sean Patrick Flanery give his considerable acting chops an outing as the psycho hitman.

Starts with good potential then plot holes disappoint
musicreporter-119 June 2020
This one had an interesting start, captivating. The generic Latino rap/reggae early on, was dismal and off putting. Things were skating along nicely, then some,..how shall we say - inconsistencies. Kyle falls in love with this girl? After a one night stand? And the ace killer has magical powers to find anyone, anywhere? I liked his character, cold, driven, brutal, uninvolved. Like the terminator. And then Kyle, gets all 100% violent? Somewhat implausible. And then the chick - "Meet me tomorrow at Mabels Diner in Las Cruces." What? - No time? He's supposed to hang there all day?

Anyway,AFTER the killer is killed with a gun shot to the back, he shows up again at the end = WHAT? There must be some missing footage. Overall very interesting but not likely to watch again.
