Bad writing, terrible acting.

Left me with the feeling that nearly anyone could have done a better job of writing, directing, oracting in this film. Nothing could have saved this film.

Not good

Some pretty bad acting and poor writing define this movie. View at the risk of losing time you will never be able to recoup. Even Tom Sizemore, in his miniscule role, cannot do anything with the dialogue he is provided.

Drugs can be in your neighborhood; no heroes here, but they're trying

The ending is probably not what anyone wanted to see. It's pretty depressing, but not for everyone.

Kate McGrath wrote the movie and also gives one of the standout performances. You can't tell when she's lying or what she's going to do. Her morals are questionable. And yet in the one scene with her character's son, you can actually like her.

David LaRosa directed, and he also gives another standout acting performance. McEnroe (not how the credits spell his name) cares only about getting things done, and rules just get in the way. he's not easy to get along with, but he gets the job done. Or tries. I'm not sure anyone truly accomplishes anything here.

The value of this movie, I suppose, is the constant message that meth could be anywhere and anyone could be making or distributing it. And making and selling meth is more dangerous than other drugs, although the process of dealing drugs is dangerous by itself.

Awful

God that was awful. Does Hollywood ever consult cops who actually worked meth labs for a living???? Morons

Good indie flick

Saw this on Paramount Plus and impressed with it. Emotional and telling. Have had family who struggled with addiction I get the problem that people on drugs face as well as those trying to not have everything fall into total chaos. This movie focused on the human side and pushed aside the explosions, gun shots, and Hollywood attempts at realism.

There are some movies that you watch and forget. This movie I kept thinking about days later and found myself talking to my family about it too.

There are some production bits that if it was a bigger movie I could have seen them taking different approaches to certain ways they filmed certain scenes but it's obvious when you have movie full of unknowns, except for Sizemore (RIP) they are just trying to get the story out there.

Good job on this movie...liked it so much I wrote a review and I rarely do that!

Good writing, Good acting.

Good movie. Some of these reviewers make me wonder what they actually consider "good". This was a well done movie with good acting, not perfect, but good. The writing made sense and told a story.

The direction was on point and made me care about the characters. The characters are what really stood out to me with this movie. They were actually interesting and had depth. None of them were perfect and if the "heroes" had their flaws and needed to grow.

The ending of the movie was a montage done right that choked me up with the last shot...I won't spoil for anyone who hasn't seen but it really wraps it all up. Vague spoiler...I found the fact that the movie starts with fire trucks, police, Emts and ends with those things on the kids shirt really drove home the idea that the cycle continues...or will it? I guess it's up to us to decide. Just like with this movie, watch it and decide on your own...not on the poor reviews by some of the people on this page.

A film done right.

I'm always impressed with a film that takes the time to develop the characters. Too much today is all about snarky dialogue, cliche driven characters, and worn out stories. How many cop shows follow the same nonsense. I think what impressed me most in this film was that the filmmakers let the story tell it's tale in a dark and gritty way. Not one of these characters are "perfect", they all have warts. It's the drudgery of the war on drugs that these characters carry every day that really grabbed and stayed with me. I kept thinking what that must be like...another town, another problem, another group of townspeople who don't want to admit the problem until it's too late. Thanks to this movie and the excellent work from the director, writer, actors I have a good sense. It's not a surprise that this flick was nominated/won for multiple acting awards for its cast and won a best crime drama award. I'm looking forward to seeing what the people behind this flick do next.
