Welcome to Terminus
claudio_carvalho25 March 2014
Glenn, Tara, Sgt. Abraham Ford, Dr. Eugene Porter and Rosita Espinosa are following the tracks heading to Terminus. When Glenn sees Maggie's message, he does not want to stop walking to meet her despite the group is tired. When they reach a train tunnel, Glenn decides to cross the dark tunnel with Tara, but the rest of the group decides to make a detour.

Daryl learns that there are strange rules in the group of marauders and he has a problem with one of them named Len. Ben explains the rules to be followed to him and judges their conflict. Rick, Carl and Michonne are also heading to Terminus.

"Us" is one of the best episodes of this Fourth Season and the series finally moves forward after several stalled episodes. The fans certainly are curious about what Terminus might be. Terminus in Latin means "the end" but in what sense is this sanctuary? Will it be the end of a journey or simply the end? Daryl has joined a dangerous group and what will happen when they reach Terminus? Unfortunately there is only one additional episode before the end of the Fourth Season. My vote is nine.

Title (Brazil): "Us"

Note: On 16 April 2016, I saw this show again.

A Much Less Grim Episode!
g-bodyl4 February 2015
This is the fifteenth episode of the fourth season of the Walking Dead and the second to last episode of the season. Nothing against the previous episode, but this episode is just so much less grim. This episode even features Rick in a good mood! Although there are no constant happiness, it's a good-feeling episode and the ending is tearful.....but in a rather good way.

In this episode, "Us," Glenn and Tara continue to Terminus with their new companions, although Abraham shows some reluctance. Rick, Carl, and Michonne also continue their way in rather good spirits. Finally, Daryl is struggling to adjust to the laws of the Claimers.

Overall, this is a great episode and we finally get to see Terminus for a brief time, but the question remains if Terminus is to good to be true or is it just another failure. We shall see in the season four finale. I rate this episode 9/10.

Builds towards something great!

You could really feel the plot and storylines move forward in this episode as we close in on the final! Some of the stuff we have been waiting for in some time.. finally happened in this episode!

We got more insight on a new group of characters... Joe and The Claimers! They have a very simple code to live by.. but do not hesitate and shows no mercy if you stray from that! They believe its survival of the fittest!

The storylines with Glenn and Maggie finaly come together and it was so heartwarming to see!

The episode ended on a highnote that will leave you wanting more!! What is waiting for them at Terminus?

Finally

After milking episodes ever since they left the prison FINALLY there's signs of true progression.

The multi-linear storyline is a lot more captivating than the regular slow moving single story lines they've been rehashing. Following up last week's episode it's impressive that we've been given yet another breath of fresh air.

This episode is a beautifully elaborated chess move, and they finally got the show in check.

Next week's finale, I have a feeling, is going to be intense and predict a MUCH more exciting 5th season than this past season.

The best is yet to come.

10/10 (relative to this season)

Moiving forward finally.

Warning: Spoilers
Finally, after several redundant story lines the series moves forward. US episode has two story lines. Daryl and a group of marauders have some simple rules don't lie, claim what you want, and do not steal. Daryl and another member have a disagreement. The other story of the soldier and scientist have to rescue Glen and his crew from a tunnel before delivering the scientist to Washington. Both episodes have action, conflict, and mystery. The US episode is well directed and acted. There is a fast pace to the story which mixes action with scary special effects. The acting performance of J D Evermore aka Harley as the marauders leader is memorable. I believe the viewer will see much more of the Harley character. Eight out of ten stars.

Finally a good episode

Warning: Spoilers
Finally a good episode.

As expected it's always like the best is for last.

The episode begins with the new group of Daryl, showing a strange sense of justice. Where there are rules that must be followed for the good I live.

Finally Maggie and Glenn meet and all go to the terminus. What seems like a strange place, since it was seen on the plates the site is welcome at all because the door was open.

We can see where the series is heading, although the terminus has no security, this place seems to be an oasis in the desert, however let's hope not to be an illusion.

Made me want to find out what happens next

All groups head for the Terminus but some face more problems on the way.

This is a solid episode that gives an effective build up to series finale and makes you want to know what actually awaits them at the Terminus.

There are some decent scenes involving Daryl and the Claimers (sounds like a band). One thing 'The Walking Dead' does well is show the social constructions in place to maintain order in the various groups that have formed in the wake of the apocalypse. This is another good example.

The scenes in the tunnel with Glenn and Tara have brilliant set design with a great creepy atmosphere, enhanced by the lighting and sound. However there is no real suspense as you know there is no way the writers would make such a big deal over a possible reunion between Glenn and Maggie only to thwart it with a zombie horde at this stage.

As for my prediction for the Terminus, it all sounds like it's going to be bad news to me. The earlier episode that implied Beth was kidnapped has not been followed up at all and, as the finale looks to take place in the Terminus, it feels like there might be a link.

All actors are on good form as ever and the production values are great.

"Us" brings a revelation that not everything is as it seems, highlighting the group's growing distrust and wariness of others
fernandoschiavi11 March 2024
Abraham, Glenn, Tara, Rosita and Eugene are walking down the railroad tracks, where Glenn finds Maggie's message. He and Tara separate from Abraham's group, hoping to find Maggie. They reach a tunnel where Tara becomes trapped. They are rescued by Maggie, Bob, and Sasha. They then meet up with Abraham and his crew, who were nearby because Eugene had convinced them to turn back wait for them. The merged group enters Terminus with ease, and observes the tranquility of the area. A woman named Mary welcomes them and offers them something to eat.

Meanwhile, Daryl struggles to assimilate himself into the Claimers as one of the group. He fight with a man named Len over a freshly-killed rabbit. The leader Joe explains that they only have one rule: if someone wants something, he claims it. He then cuts the rabbit in half for Daryl and Len, since the former was not aware of the rule. Later, Len tries to convince the group that Daryl stole his half of the rabbit. Joe then reveals that he witnessed Len put the rabbit in Daryl's bag. He and the group begin viciously beating Len.

Joe informs Daryl that they are tracking a man who had killed one of their group. That man is possibly headed to Terminus.

Memorable scenes include the group's encounter with the mysterious signs leading to Terminus and the revelation that not everything is as it seems, highlighting the group's growing distrust and wariness of others. Meanwhile, Glenn's determination to find Maggie and reunite with her drives him forward, showcasing the power of love and hope in a world filled with darkness.

Brilliant acting and writing and progression.

This new different group story line is a lot different more exciting than the normal single story lines as it is different they've been showing. Following up last week's episode it's impressive that we've been given yet more new stuff its fresh.

This episode is a brilliantly gripping and makes you want more, and they definitely keep the show in check.

Next week's finale, I have a feeling, is going to be intense, dark and mind blowing and predict another season for season 5 as well as this past season.

More of the best writing is yet to come.

At Terminus
TheLittleSongbird7 October 2018
Had heard nothing but great things about 'The Walking Dead' from friends and IMDb reviewers. It took a while to get round to watching, both from being busy and also not being sure whether it would be my cup of tea. Finally getting round to it a few years ago and slowly working my way through it, having had a very long to watch and review list, 'The Walking Dead' turned out to be very much my cup of tea and as good as the hype made it out to be, have found it extremely addictive.

Season 4''s penultimate episode "Us" is not as amazing as the previous episode, compared to that episode's grim intensity and heart-wrenching emotion "US" is quieter and slower, something of the light at the end of the tunnel. Not one of the show's very best but does what it does very effectively. It is yet again a strong reminder of how Seasons 1-5 of 'The Walking Dead' to me were absolutely brilliant and seeing the show in its full glory days (Season 6 was uneven, Season 7 was a huge disappointment and am still debating whether to watch Season 8). It is great stuff if missing the extra something of the best episodes.

It still shocks me at how an intelligent, well-made (so much so that it is easy to mistake it for a film) show about zombies could be made when so many films have tried and failed abysmally to do so.

"Us" doesn't really do anything wrong, it just misses the major twists and shocking revelations of other episodes which disappointed ever so slightly.

Like all the episodes of the show, "Us" is incredibly well made in the production values, with gritty and audacious production design, photography of almost cinematic quality, effects that look good, have soul and are not overused or abused and pretty frightening make-up. The music is haunting and affecting, having presence but never being too intrusive.

The writing is intelligent and thought-provoking, not as talky as some of the previous episodes, with lots of tension and emotional resonance and shows signs of character complexity and multiple layer storytelling done with intricacy.

Appreciated the ever strong and still progressing story, where there is never the mistake of being confused or over-stuffed, and character building, which the episode has a bigger emphasis on, and that the pace is rarely dull or rushed, with some intensity. The character writing and the character interactions are what is particularly great here, really appreciated that it gave more development to the less interesting characters before and ones that haven't been quite so much in a while.

Everything is nicely paced without rushing through the more important parts while being not dull. The world building is already stunningly immersive and effective. Direction is smart and atmospheric while the show throughout has been strongly acted which it is here all round.

Summarising, a great episode. 9/10 Bethany Cox

Welcome To Terminus

Warning: Spoilers
There were no words to sum up the last episode I was speechless.

The words came a bit easier this episode.

Plot In A Paragraph: Daryl struggled with "the code" of his new travelling companions whilst Glenn struggles to convince his and Tara's travelling companions to go to Terminus.

We see just how close Glenn and Tara have become, Tara will follow Glenn regardless of her own safety and then Glenn first wouldn't leave her, and second lied about who Tara was. Glenn and Maggies reunion was a touching moment, whilst Len's beating was brutal. Daryls new pals are clearly trouble,

It ended on a positive note, with some of the gang arriving at terminus (but is it really as perfect as it seems??)

Warning: Spoilers
"I don't give a monkey left nut" -Abraham Ford. This is a decent episode. The first 50 seconds off Eugene being Eugene was amazing. In fact, Eugene is awesome in every scene of this episode. All of his lines are amazing. Surprisingly, stuff actually happens in this episode. Glenn and Maggie finally find each other and now half of the group are together. It only took 7 episodes. They made it to Terminus as well. The tunnel scene was pretty boring and it wasn't really necessary except for the part where Maggie showed up and shot all the walkers. They could've at least killed Tara. Everything with Daryl and the claimers was pointless. The claimer already found Daryl 2 episodes ago. The only reason is that Daryl would be there when the Claimers find Rick's group. Everything that happened with them in this episode was pointless.
