I lived in Ibiza for 10 years, I love zombies and I love Matt King ... so it took some doing on the part of the filmmakers to make me hate this movie.

King is obviously there for a pay-check and a week in Ibiza, while the rest of the cast do their best in-betweeners impression.

Aside from a bit of stock footage and a scene in a San Antonio nightclub, we don't really get to see much of the White Isle itself, leading me to think more than half of this garbage was shot elsewhere having spent all the budget on booze during the Ibiza shoot.

Endless scenes of cringeworthy dialogue, a totally baffling story-line (if you can call it that), strained performances, bad special effects and a run time that feels like hours.

This is hard to watch - there is nothing to recommend it. Perhaps a half decent short could have been made as there is some level of basic competence in parts.

I watched for free on Prime and I want my money back. 2/10 - 1/2 for effort, 1/2 for Matt King and 1 for letting me see a few of my old local hangouts.

Made by zombies
Prismark102 September 2017
An Ebola type virus has created a zombie pandemic. Ibiza is seemingly a zombie free island. Sinister gay nightclub owner has zombie dancers and smuggles them in for no good reason. In fact he has lost a cargo of illegal alien zombies in the sea and wonders if they can swim.

Despite zombie mania, three horny teenage lads and one ex-girlfriend holiday to Ibiza to party. Alex is staying at his sister's villa. Jim is chubby, horny and misogynistic. When they go to a nightclub, crazed zombies go on a frenzy and our heroes need to escape Ibiza.

This is a juvenile and silly film. The teenage lads are by and large irritating, the acting is amateurish, the effects are ultra low budget, humour is non existent and the scrip is rubbish.

Comically bad
argylx26 July 2021
Not comedy, not even bad comedy, just a movie so bad it's almost comical. Emily Atack and Matt King must have shot this flick saying over and over to themselves "think of the paycheck think of the paycheck think of the paycheck". You will get the odd cringey laugh *at* the movie rather than anything *in* the movie, but it's not worth the time. Terrible, 1/10 maybe 0/10.

Bikini zombies...
paul_haakonsen13 June 2017
"Ibiza Undead" happened to sneak up on me unnoticed. I am a big zombie aficionado, but somehow this title had managed to elude me. So when I happened to come across this 2016 horror comedy, I naturally jumped at the chance to watch it.

With a combination of exotic holiday location and a zombie outbreak, I must admit that "Ibiza Undead" seemed to be primed up to have the potential for being something truly good. Dare one hope for something in the likes of "Shaun of the Dead"?

The movie quickly establishes itself a horror comedy aimed for a younger party-loving audience, but hey that was also to be expected given the title of the movie, right?

Like so many other zombie movies we are offered no explanation as to what is the course of the infection. But isn't that just a part of the genre by now already, keeping the audience unaware and in the dark? Then again, it is the zombies that we hunger for, pardon the pun, not the science behind the infection, is it not? Personally I don't understand why you would keep zombies around for entertainment and staff at a holiday resort. It just didn't make much of any sense actually. But hey, it is a movie after all.

While the storyline was quite simplistic, the movie does put the audience into the outbreak and carnage fairly quickly, about half an hour into the movie then it kicks up the gear a notch.

It is quite apparent that director and writer Andy Edwards has drawn heavy inspiration from "Shaun of the Dead", given the character gallery, dialogue, as well as the concept of the movie and the idea behind it. But still, "Ibiza Undead" does have enough of originality to be its own movie.

There were some nice enough gory scenes here and there throughout the course of the movie. However, don't except this to be a gore flick though.

The zombie make-up and effects were adequate and served the movie well enough. And it is always nice to have zombies that are beyond the face painted grey and then the make-up department has forgotten about the rest of the body. While the zombie effects are not among the goriest or most gruesome of zombie effects and make-up that I have seen in a zombie movie (or series), then they were indeed good enough here in "Ibiza Undead".

While "Ibiza Undead" is listed as a horror comedy, then there was actually very little of both to be had here. I suppose that having zombies in a movie suffice it to be labeled as a horror movie. As for the comedy in the movie, well you have to look long and hard to find that.

"Ibiza Undead" is a fair enough addition to the zombie genre, however it wasn't outstanding or particularly extraordinary. It proved to be good enough entertainment for what it turned out to be.

Inbetweeners, Kevin & Perry versus zombie
amesmonde27 March 2017
In a world where zombies are rumoured and known, a group of youngest head to uninfected Ibiza for the holiday of a lifetime – only it's not as zombie free as they thought.

A low budget comedy yarn, with sex, partying and zombies. It's not in the league of productions values as The Rezort or the likes of Cockney Vs Zombies. Writer/director Andy Edwards offers a watchable rough round the edges undead romp.

Some of the lines are funny but without Ed Kear as wise cracking Big Jim this would have completely fallen flat. Dealer Karl played by Richard Brake, Rhys Ifans-like Matt King is notable and plays a good psycho, but he's too good compared to the rest of the cast and feels out of place. Also UK's Alex Zane cameos as a Club Host in amongst the rubbery makeup and fake blooded zombie extras.

It's not Shaun of the Dead, as a gauge picture a low budget The Inbetweeners Movie (2011) mixed with Kevin & Perry Go Large (2000) versus zombies. With limited production values and a sod's law twist at the end it has its limitations but to Edwards credit, you can't fault his effort as he works with what he has and makes the most of the sun, sea and location.

Teens who want to see some bikinis and a pair of boobs should enjoy but everyone else, well...

worst film ever made
darren-153-89081018 October 2016
Warning: Spoilers
So badly wants to be The Inbetweeners with Zombies in Ibiza, so badly written and acted that it actually feels like it was made in 70's.

Zero charm, not 1 likable person in the film.

Matt King from Peep Show, dear oh dear. What was he thinking. I cringed at almost every scene

Im sure the director thought this sounds like a blast when he told his mate his idea.

Horrific film

I've never walked out of a film, and never would, but I can honestly say after 2 minutes I was very tempted.

Truly one of the worst movies of all times. Seems like they just came up with the script in front of the cameras. Big fat guy super annoying one of the worst actors ever.

so so bad
dazza_dsmith7 April 2017
So I'm a big fan of Zombie films, and I have seen some great ones "Shaun of the Dead" and some bad ones which are still watchable "Cockneys v Zombies" And then there is this. This film is so bad its beyond belief, firstly the storyline is completely illogical, the acting is terrible, the characters are unlikable and very 2 dimensional To be fair to it, I did go into this thinking it was going to be bad but thought that like Cockneys v Zombies it would have some humorous bits in it and would be watchable and at least it would have a good soundtrack being that it's based on the Party Island of Ibiza But even the soundtrack was terrible! The only thing this gave me was a belief that if I wanted to get into film making I could make a film better than this

Title describes the movie pretty well. Asides the "un" part.
GiraffeDoor3 July 2019
My god this movie is awful.

Even if you like dumb movies that pour on low brow humour, gore and gozongas, this doesn't deliver in any of those categories.

There's one memorable or even particularly likable character who's who personality is pretending he knows how to get laid. We also have an annoying guy who's still hung up on his stuck up ex girlfriend he is staying with them for stupid reasons.

It's cartoon villain does't help much and the fact that they are aware of a "zombie" outbreak sort of kills any chance for growing dread.

It's barely a comedy, it's slow, lazy, generic and expects you to root for two characters with the charm of an old potato between them to get back together.

There's barely any fansevice either do don't watch for that like I did.

The worst aspects of the movie can't really be said without spoilers but it uses before seen gags, bad pacing and more than one big middle finger to its audience before the runtime is up.

My one out of 10 goes to the couple of actors that seem to have at least tried to bring it.

Some good laughs
davidt-7385919 October 2020
This movie is basically inbetweeners meets zombies, it even has "charlotte big jugs" starring in it. If u like your dirty jokes and zombies u should get some enjoyment out of this. It has its hilarious moments and is just a good all round zombie flick.

The Zombie Apocalypse isn't what it is cracked up to be
nogodnomasters23 July 2017
Warning: Spoilers
A mutated Ebola virus causes a zombie concern. Six young adults go to Ibiza to party and get away. Meanwhile a dumping of 200 zombies off the coast begs the question, "Can zombies swim?" The first 30 minutes sets the stage and establishes the characters. Soon there is a zombie apocalypse and our sextet look for an escape from paradise.

The film combines a British teen sex comedy with a zombie film using mediocre characters and trite writing. The jokes were more crude than funny, with a few exceptions, like the "dude" seen. The production has numerous girls in bikinis plus one nude shot (Algina Lipskis) early in the film as a teaser. More comedy than horror. Made with the adolescent in mind, Guide: F-word. Nudity. Implied sex.

Dead On Arrival
elliotminorjosh3 July 2018
Ibiza Undead (this is one of many titles this film seems to fluctuate around) is quite possibly the worst zombie film I've ever seen. It's not even safe or by-the-numbers, it's just downright offensive. Big Jim is one of the worst characters ever put to the small screen and Matt King is completely underused and is potentially only here for the Peep Show credentials and a quick holiday and paycheck. The effects are laughable, the zombie make-up is pathetic, and this is a waste of time. OVERALL: Makes you wish that George A.Romero didn't start the zombie genre

The new benchmark for 'bad'.
jrgibson-5193121 January 2019
This comedy/horror film lacks comedy and horror. It does however have other qualities such as bad acting and succeeds in making 95 minutes an endurance test for even the most ardent fan (if there are any) of anyone involved in this abomination. Although, to be fair, there are worse films than Ibiza Undead; however, it is a very fine distinction.

Pitiful
Leofwine_draca14 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
IBIZA UNDEAD is yet another pitiful low budget zombie movie, this time a British comedy in which a bunch of slacker kids head off to the titular tourist destination for the usual, only to find themselves in the middle of an outbreak of the hungry dead. With a no-name cast and an excruciating amount of juvenile humour, which is the worst I've encountered lately, this is nothing more than a rip-off of THE INBETWEENERS with added zombies. The film is so cheap that there are only a few digital FX scenes, the camera usually cutting away instead, and those that do exist are awful. The characters are also exceptionally annoying. You'd be better off watching COCKNEYS VS ZOMBIES instead.

One to avoid
gluonpaul31 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Its billed as a comedy horror, it delivers as neither of those.

To give you an idea of the humour one of the earliest "jokes" is one of the actors sitting at a bar at night putting suncream on because as he says "better safe than sorry". The worst part is that lame unfunny joke is still probably the funniest part of the movie.

The three main actresses are actually okay but the three guys in this are terrible, especially the fat guy who thinks he is funny. They have a scene with him trying to act and crying to one of the women they are trapped with and its honestly one of the most painfully bad acting moments in film history.

To be honest while its hard to do a good zombie movie, its very easy to make a bog standard its okay zombie movie and this fails to even achieve that. I suggest avoiding this.

not funny and zombie attacks off-camera
trashgang24 April 2017
Thought that this could have been big fun. Zombies all over Ibiza. But was I wrong, I never laughed and never got into it. the acting was terrible, I didn't see any comedy in it and there's almost no action. You know, three guys going to Ibiza to get really bonkers and having sex all over. Could have been funny but it wasn't.

There are zombies and they looked great but it's more about the guys and their boring situations and conversations. And then the girls, the slut having sex in 30 seconds, the nerdy girl who falls in love, at the end of the day, it's more about them then about the zombies. And then you have the drug dealer, so cliché and not funny at all.

I didn't laugh one bit, didn't enjoyed it at all, after all, most of the attacking is done off-camera.

Just garbage!!
Marynewcomb20133 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This movie had potential to be an ok zombie movie but turn fast into garbage. Here is an example!! Girl kills a zombie in the pool and doesn't get bit or swallow blood & still turns!!! Guy has a sawedoff shotgun standing several feet away from and he blows the van up while also hitting a girl in the leg who was standing beside him!!! Just a snip of what stupid garbage this movie is!! Only the mindless drones will give this movie any kind of a good rating!!!

Pretty tame
frukuk20 May 2019
Despite a spirited performance from Marcia Do Vales and a solid performance from Emily Atack, there's nothing here to recommend. There are zombies and there's the Spanish location -- as it says on the tin -- but there's nothing novel here. And this is pretty tame in terms of zombie action and pretty lacklustre when it comes to comedy.

Zombie Spring Breakers
dparkhurst-9514218 November 2021
Actually a pretty decent movie. Good cinematography, actually looks like it is filmed in this decade by professionals. Good scenery.

Some good comedy scenes. There is a lot of gore, but the zombie scenes could have been done a bit better, mostly comical zombie scenes. Overall this move is worth watching. Especially for younger crowd, as it is a teen spring break zombie movie.

Awesome Dark Comedy - Great Fun!
katemime6 March 2017
Ibiza Undead is a brilliant new Indie horror film - it's characters are totally believable (and likable) so we are drawn into their world right away. The cinematography is great, Ibiza looks beautiful and the production values are high all the way. If you like horror comedy, zombies or Ibiza you will love this film....go and see it or buy the DVD.

It's meant to be funny and not in any way serious.
gonzalez_acassie3 March 2019
I thought it was pretty good and is definitely worth a watch. It's not comparable to an actual horror zombie movie, but it has some funny moments within it. Some parts may be slow, but it is worth watching it through.

Painfully bad
Stevieboy66617 January 2019
A bunch of young Brits head off to Ibiza, only to find the island over run by zombies. The makers have obviously attempted to make this in the vein of the very popular TV series The Inbetweeners, difference is that that was very funny whereas this is the complete opposite.. The script, the acting, the ending, the characters, it's all terrible and I struggled to get through to the closing credits. Sadly, even then, the pain goes on with various out takes. I have said many times in my reviews that the zombie sub genre has been done to death, that the bad far outweigh the good. And this is a prime example of the crap being churned out by film makers who jump on the zombie bandwagon. The only positive thing that I can say is there is a fair amount of gore, but much of that is cheap looking CGI. I pretty much hated every minute of this turd of a movie. Avoid!

Mediocrity
bobbywell31 December 2018
So a group of six "friends" : 3 boys & 3 girls go to Ibiza for spring break. None of the characters are personable or even the least sympathetic. Special effects were mediocre. And that's best thing I can say about that.
