Script was almost fine but there's a problem with the main actor

"De Guerre Lasse" tries to be a gripping war drama but falls flat on almost every front. From its uninspired storytelling to its lackluster performances, this film struggles to engage its audience from start to finish.

The plot feels like a recycled mishmash of tired police movie stories, offering nothing new or innovative to the genre. "De Guerre Lasse" resorts to clichés and predictable plot twists that fail to evoke any emotional response.

The performances are equally lackluster, with wooden delivery and little chemistry between the actors. Jalil Lespert is definitely a wrong choice in this genre of movie.

A true masterpiece

Warning: Spoilers
I am afraid that this authentic gem may not stay very long on the screens. Audiences are so silly, so starving about garbage stuff and their superheroes...I prefer stop here my wrath.

This feature is an outstanding crime movie, telling the story of a deserter from the Foreign legion who gets back home to find out about his past. Everything here is awesome: acting, directing, story telling, editing. Everything.

Tcheky Karyo is absolutely terrific here, at his peak, his very best ever. A so poignant film, with sequences that make you nearly weep. An action flick too, with brutal scènes so intense that you can't even imagine.

A movie that Jean-Pierre Melville could have done, but in another may, I agree.

Run for it. A very taut tragedy from France.
