The beginning of an end

Just a quick summation of Season 8:

I personally thought season 8 was the most inferior in comparison to the rest of the seasons. Saying that, it was still quite enjoyable and a few exceptions stood out from the rest of the episodes. So I would have agreed that it's time to start finishing up the series on a good note while still possible.

This episode was indeed a nice start to the final season. It definitely evoked some of the old HIMYM laughter I've been absent from for the last few months.

We finally get an insight on the future Mrs. Mosby's character and I can imagine most viewers will be satisfied.

A new complication has arisen between Barney and Robin, briefly placing an obstacle in the way of their sexual relationship.

There were quite a few amusing scenarios in the episode, leading to humorous spectacles as always. Every character has an important role to play in this episode, a nice way to begin the season and to recap previous complexities.

All in all, I'm very satisfied. In a comical humor again with this series being back on air and have high hopes that this season will accomplish the positive closure it deserves.

Beginning Of The End

In the first episode of season nine of "How I Met Your Mother" we get to see a decent amount of the mother (Cristin Milioti) and i am pleased to say she is adorable. An absolute delight.

Plot In A Paragraph: It is Friday morning 11.00 am. Fifty five hours before the wedding of Barney and Robin. Lily is driving down with Ted, Barney and Robin are en route in a limousine being driven by Rajit and Marshall is heading to Farhampton from Minnesota worried about Lily finding out he has accepted a job as a Judge in New York.

Cristin Milioti knocks it out of the park in her first real episode, and in looking forward to seeing a lot more of her. We also seen how Lilly met the mother before Ted, and her first "joke" is a home run. I really did laugh out loudly.

Barney and Robins trip is fun as they agonise over something.

Annoyingly we see Ted has snuck off to see if the locket Robin lost is in Stella's lock up. Robin is marrying one of his best friends and he is still making huge gestures to impress her!!

I would have rated it a 7/10, but I'm awarding a bonus point for the mother

Warning: Spoilers
A nice beginning of the last season. Although knowing that it is almost over also brings a lot of sadness to me.

Barney and Robin figuring out that they might have some common relative was just too funny. They even had a reference to king Joffrey and I was actually wondering what they will do with it.

I loved to see Sherri Shepherd! She is a great guest star and her scenes with Marshall were just very good because both are such wonderful actors. I also wonder what the conversation of Lily and Marshall will be like...

And the ride with Lily and the mother on the train was pretty good. Lily attacking her was beautiful.

Slooooow start proving that they have run out of ideas

This is painful to watch. Slow, boring, filler of an episode with no substance. Absolutely no redeeming qualities. Because this review has to be at least 150 characters I will now do like the writers of this show and just type whatever to pad the runtime.

Time to wrap it up now

Sitcoms can often go on just that little bit too long.

Unfortunately 'How I Met Your Mother' in my opinion is one of them.

I didn't mind it going for a 9th series, but the creative powers that be didn't do themselves many favours by having this 9th year be set all on one day.

This episode is perfectly amusing, but the standard was so high in the early years that it's competing against itself, and coming up short.
