There were elements of comedy in this one, but this was an all too serious episode and one I feel like the show needed. This provided a true glimpse of one of the many big issues between Carol and Sam and why their relationship is so difficult. Carol freaking out over the damaged cello after seemingly connecting with her daughter was the perfect poignant exclamation point on those issues.
And we got The Breakfast Club reunion that a lot of people were hoping for. It did not feel like forced casting either, Molly Ringwald fit in perfectly as the sister-in-law here battling with Carol over petty issues.
