  Karl Roebuck : [Stops, turns around, and stares at Elise, who also stops and stares. Karl replies]  I cheated on Laura. She needs time.

  Elise Wassermann : Does she know you don't believe in monogamy?

• Olivier Pujol : [At the French police HQ, Elise has just briefed the French team and Karl on the latest findings about the killer, which indicate he could be a member of either the British or French police.]  If he's one of us, he shot three colleagues.

  Karl Roebuck : [after a pause, Karl speaks]  He's French, then.

  Elise Wassermann : [the entire French team stares at Karl, looking mildly insulted. Elise speaks with a defiant tone]  Because he spoke French to the pilot, and none of you learn languages?

  Karl Roebuck : [Karl replies as he turns and leaves]  I was thinking more because we watch each other's backs in England.
