Thank you for making an awful movie
fifthotp18 December 2022
First of all, if you are not Ukrainian why the hell write such a nonsense.

Second of all, knowing what's been happening in Ukraine for around 8, almost 9 years you still had the audacity to write and film this.

Third of all, you should mind your own countries business and never get into anothers.

Last but not least, stop making scenarios and films, because I can assure you, if you make another film like this, I'll find you and make you live through what Ukrainians are living right now.

Oh, and to add more, you have an awful timing and knowledge of Ukrainian people's mentality. In no way would a normal Ukrainian person fall in love with a freaking terrorist.

I just wish all of those who took part in making this film can experience what Ukrainians feel, like loosing everything, from your house to your family.

Promotes terrorism
Wrx95Pro18 December 2022
The film glorifies and romanticizes the russian army and russia, which has been recognized as a state sponsor of terrorism.

I don't understand how it is even possible to film something like this in times of war, while the russian army is killing, torturing, maiming Ukrainian women, men and children. Showing russia in a good light is only imitating their propaganda narratives.

A Ukrainian will never love a russian. How can you love someone who wants to kill you? HOW??? It's just ridiculously awful.

I would look at you if murderers came to you and you rushed to hug and kiss them. And then you would just die in terrible agony, feeling all the pain and suffering.

Warning movie is a cheap russian propaganda of war
crackle-safesta19 December 2022
Romanticising war for the load of russian investment while seating safely in Europe. If the crew behind this piece of cheap video doesn't have a hart and soul to create a movie then they should call it an 'AD' and add a hashtag 'sponsored' as the rest of influencers .

Not to mention that it is highly immoral trying to whitewash a russian terrorist state unprovoked invasion!! Trying to portray russian army that right now is committing war crimes as a romantic guys in love! If the film crew really feels they are so sweet - go to the front lines - meet them in the real life! See with your own eyes what horror russian army brings with them!

A fanfic based on a genocide
sunsetpoet18 December 2022
As a Ukrainian LGBT, I'm deeply offended by this movie. We have literally 0 (zero) real and known life stories about even a male/female pair where one of them is the occupant, and their love is "above the war" (and even if there were some, this would change nothing). Instead, we have thousands of documented russian war crimes: r@pes of women, men, children, and elderly; inhumane tortures; a lot of mass graves. Conclusion: the author of the movie wanted to create fanfic about "forbidden love" and ignorantly choose the russian war in Ukraine because... russian sponsorship? I'm 100% sure we will see very soon propaganda in the western media about how Ukrainians attacked a LGBT movie, "see, they are homophobic!!!", etc.

Please don't watch this movie and don't give the author your views. The exact idea of this movie is inhumane and highly offensive to the Ukrainian LGBT community. Russians did unimaginable things in Ukraine and romanticizing the war while it's still ongoing is just so morally wrong. Every day we read about the deaths of our civilians, someone lost a father, someone lost a child. And also what the author thinks about Ukrainian LGBT losing their UKRAINIAN lovers from the army due to russian attacks?

This war is not about "forgive and accept". Ukraine tried to keep the peace after russia annexed Crimea. We tried to keep the peace after russia came to Donbas and started to rise "separatist" movements there. Please just fncking read how russia makes wars with all of its neighbors: it's always the same imperialistic fascist conquests over and over again that always end with massive death "cleanings" among the civilians. To glorify a russian soldier while Ukrainian LGBT soldiers defend our freedom with their lives...is just the worst thing a movie director could do. Not only as a director but also as a human being. This is a disgrace.

STOP ROMANTISATION OF WAR AND RUSSIAN SOLDIERS
kvmqsbhq18 December 2022
What's wrong with you? We are a tolerant society, but filming this in the current situation is just awful. You insulted the Ukrainian people. Russians are terrorists, absolutely everything. I hope you think about what you are doing... You have no moral principles, and it's sad. Foreigners, you do not know about all the atrocities of Russians and shoot about love? You should be ashamed... Humanity should be more important than commerce. You probably have not seen the Russian military, they do not look romantic, as you show it, but like terrible killers. And if you decide to delete our comments, think at this moment about Ukrainian children killed by Russian soldiers.

Shame on you
volha-7258619 December 2022
The creators of this film support the genocide of Ukrainians. We are currently at war with the russians. They are destroying us, our homes, our language and culture.

While the majority of the russian population supports (or ignore) this genocide, someone feels appropriate to make such a film.

This is either an attempt to gain popularity on a "trending" topic, or an absolute misunderstanding of modern realities.

Listen carefully.

We do not want to be friends with the russians. We want to be as far away from them as possible. We want to separate ourselves from them in every possible aspect of our lives.

It is so disgusting that I have no words!

Absolutely disgusting
liushnv18 December 2022
Russians are killing Ukrainians, torturing and raping en masse in the occupied areas, murdering and mutilating people simply for fun. Russia started the genocidal war to wipe Ukraine out of existence. Using art to whitewash their crime and make some unrealistic love story out of it equals support of the russian genocide of Ukraine. This is sickwning and insulting to Ukrainianyls wgo have lost their family, home and peaceful lives. This movie is a waste of time and efforts, and it's cast and author should apologize for this abomination. Instead of watching this, please follow the Youtube channel of Hromadske (news media telling the stories of Ukrainian civilians and army), read Kyiv Independent for the news, donate to Come back Alive Foundation or Hospitallers Paramedic Batallion - these sources are the best for information and support of Ukraine.

Absolutely disgusting
karinashcherbets19 December 2022
Who would even have a thought that making a film about "love" of an agressor and its victim is a good idea? You have no sympathy for Ukrainians who continue to suffer from russian terrorists every day and even at this particular second.

This "film" not only justifies terrorism itself, it makes everything seem as if people of Ukraine are exaggerating the tragedy, except we don't. Russians continue to torchure us on occupied territories, killing civilians in other cities, forcing people to leave their homes in order to save their lives. All that for seeing how some westerns who heard the word "war" only in cinema while going to look at the Anakin Skywalker could make money on the tragedy.

Russians must be considered guilty of this war and never be shown as ones to who Ukrainians could have any sort of affection, because the only feeling we have is disgust.

I am traumatized by the existence of such ideas
privetyaskychnaya18 December 2022
It's hard to imagine anything as inappropriate, sick, and disgusting as this movie. Maybe romanticize killers enough? Maybe it's enough to come up with "high" feelings where they will never happen? I can't imagine how divorced from reality you need to be in order to remove something like this. But, no kidding, I'll need an extra session with my psychotherapist after that. Can I get compensation? Some people absolutely should not deal with anything creative because they turn everything into an act of violence. Nasty and pathetic, miserable, abominable and ugly. I need more words to describe this "masterpiece".

love in war times
Kirpianuscus15 November 2022
A love story having as frame the Russian - Ukrainian war. The main virtue - the piano music. The bad - one a not real coherent story. Sure, the emotion matters in this case and the story, a gay one, is only the seed for it but , admiring the good points, it is not very easy to ignore the forced parts of a Ukrainian- Russian love story and the death, not very surprising , on the Ukrainian - Moldavian border.

But, sure, noble intentions, some eccentric story, pathetic in other measure, having, maybe , as basic purpose to sensibilize the audience about the tragedy near E. U. borders.

In short, love in war times.

I love watch this with my Ukrainian boyfriend. Somebody may say that this film is unacceptable, but it's really deep lovely story that I can advise to watch for everyone. Nobody understood us, so maybe this film can change that. It's so hard to be gays especially this time. Everybody always asking me how I can dating Ukrainian man these time. But the reality is that there is no that much differences between us. We're all the part of humanity and it's always better to love that hate. I'll never stop love my Ukrainian sweetie boy. Maybe sometimes we're arguing in some moments, but it's not the reason to hate each other.

Make love, no war!

Bad movie with 0 understanding of the Ukrainian context
sonyashandra18 December 2022
Making money and fame on war is a shame. Especially when director romanticizes russians, who literally killing, raping and robbing Ukrainians on their land. Why don't he chose hard pass and lighten situation as it is, but insted he chosen to go on with typical Shakespeare move: show love of two opposites. But it is disgusting and here is why: war is still going on, it is not finished, there are thousands of people on occupied territories, which being harrassed by russians everyday! Does the story of "love" between Ukrainian and russian helps them to heal trauma after russians?

Shame on the director. Try to understand real Ukrainian history and position before shooting films. And stop using the most played out plot everywhere.

Amorally and nastily are only words that describe essence given to the "masterpiece"
Aylekisss18 December 2022
When will get an income from this film remember, that money is bloody and earned after suffering of Ukrainians. This film is amoral for the Ukrainian people (including me). Already almost a year lasts war with these tyrants, executioners, where every day not only our defenders but also innocent people perish, and you try to justify these creations. Thus, you induce us to forgive them??

For all feral crimes, raping, tortures.

Sufficiently, to create the cinema, not knowing the real situation. To me nastily from this intention, as far as it is necessary to be pitiful, to take off it. Call you to the apologies and this moving away, with the large stretching, cinema.

Oh yeah it's "cool" to fall in love with a terrorist
pechonkinaanna18 December 2022
Oh yeah it's so cool to be in love with a person who came to your homeland and is about to kill off thousands of civilians, were those your thoughts while making this?

Well, let me tell you it's an awful and a disgusting idea. Although I love the enemies to lovers trope, but please leave it for fantasy films or just anything that is fiction.

You can't just write such things about something that is really happening right now. Like imagine if someone wrote that Hitler fell in love with a Jewish. What a "cool"trope.

Before writing and filming this you should've studied Ukrainian history and mentality. Trust me there's no way a normal, mentally sane Ukrainian would fall in love with russian soldier now.

Imagine, that person came to your country, killed many people and destroyed everything you loved, you seriously want to tell us that a normal person would still love him.

Last but not least, I hope you and your families can experience what Ukrainians are living through, how is it when your home is destroyed or when your loved ones are killed.

Bruhhh, i feel bad
annakakhnof18 December 2022
Seriously, a movie about some kind of parallel reality! Homophobic russia - imperialist country that kills other peoples became the "main character" of the film? It is hard to believe that the civilized world makes such films.

This state is a te*rorist! Ki*ler state! Russian propaganda has reached a new level) I hope intelligent people will not pay attention to such pathetic attempts to justify their political and moral crimes. While these same soldiers kill civilians in Ukraine and terr*rize the entire population, do you romanticize it? I am ashamed of such a film! God erase my memory!

Thank you.

They are romanticizing the tragedy
dianakyluk19 December 2022
This film is a romanticized mockery of the tragedy of all Ukrainians. Russian statehood had occupied our country for last 250 years and in one form or another it has destroyed our country and our culture. They stole our and other countries' culture and cultural figures and even in 21 continue to stole them. They had made us feel ashamed for Ukrainian culture.

In this year, after 8-9 years after occupation of Crimea and making so-called "DPR" and "LPR" and full scale invasion in 2022 some people from western country, whose country never was a russian colony, make a romantic film about Ukrainian boy and russian soldier. Russian soldier, which ARE the part of russian society, russian culture; which came to kill Ukrainians and destroy or stole everything Ukrainian (russian people also illegally exported to the territory of russia Ukrainian children from occupied territories).

The war hasn't even ended, russian statehood hasn't even started to decolonize, russian statehood hasn't even apologize for the colonization and these film creators already making russian soldiers something like cute pity puppy, to whom we have to empathize.

It's just disgusting
tnt-9842419 December 2022
I watched this movie and I am totally disappointed. Russians kill Ukrainians and at the same time allow themselves to make a movie about the romantic relationship between them. This is just a sick perception of the world.

Manipulation, an attempt to whitewash the Russian army! Russia is a terrorist state, that's a fact. Making a movie about the romantic relationship between a killer and her victim is simply beyond my understanding!

Make a movie about crimes, corruptions, and blackness of your country, and don't go to Ukraine. A good attempt to rise on a hyped topic. I hope this is your last film work!!!!

I wish author come to war and see
irynah19 December 2022
This movie has nothing in common with reality.

The war on the information front is also being waged quite fiercely from the beginning and even before.

The russians are not only dealing with us physically. They also litter the information field with their propaganda. In all the bad senses of this word. This is what they did for decades on the territory of modern Ukraine. This is what they are doing to create a false perception even now in the whole world.

It is with the help of film tools that you can say the most and convey to the largest number of people.

So be sensible and do not fall for the aggressor's propaganda.

Disgusting idea and no understanding of context at all
sedova-2654219 December 2022
I honestly can't understand how someone dares to hype on this theme and feel ok about it. Besides that, you seem to be pretty sure about how Ukrainian should act and feel. How does it happen?

Can't imagine more sick imagination and "creativity". Make peace with murderer? Fall in love with him? Sweet story, ha?

I hope you have enough brain cells left to delete this film from all platform and apologize for producing it.

I don't know if you are aware that now Ukrainians are fighting to prevent world war and protect democracy. It means that they are fighting for you too. Have a though on this before creating anything else.

Immoral and insensitive
gango-4105219 December 2022
This is so gross on so many levels i can't even begin to explain. Only an ignorant or straight up immoral person could've created this film. Instead of spreading russian propaganda and making tasteless, insensitive movies, how about reading up on russian soldiers' crimes in Bucha, Irpin, Kherson, Izyum and Mariupol? It's not putin who created torture chambers for civilians, including CHILDREN, it's russian soldiers. It's russian soldiers who maimed and murdered civilians and even ANIMALS just for fun. They're pure evil and this film just shamelessly romanticizes them. There can't be any love or lack of borders between a murderer and its victim.

Disgusting
tkachmariii18 December 2022
Show us the love feelings between a Ukrainian and a russian...

It's disgusting, beastly, hideously. When russians kill Ukrainian, raping our women AND CHILDREN, robbing homes. So many Ukrainians have stayed without homes, kids without their parents and parents without their kid. For centuries Ukraine was oppressed by every generation of russia. Our grandparents grew up in hunger precisely because of russian government. Ukraine is in blood precisely because of the Russians. AND AFTER THOSE FACTS how DARE you showing us this. This incredibly untrue and unbelievable story which has not any sense.

This shows only your ignorance. You have stooped very low by showing such a disgusting film. Shame on you. I will try to make sure that as many Ukrainians as possible learn about this ignorance. If a foreigner is reading this now, I ask him to remember that russians are not people and this movie is awful.

Record for most vile film of all time
colinvandompseler19 December 2022
This is the most disgusting and insensitve premise for a movie I have ever seen. The producers, actors, director, writer should all hang their heads in shame. You are an embarrassment to the industry, your country and your families. Unless the movie ends with the 🇺🇦 refugee putting a surprise bullet in the 🇷🇺 scumbags brain, there is no redemption for this piece of filth. Anyone connected to this thing should be taken to Bucha and forced to dig graves for all the men, women and CHILDREN that terrorist 🇷🇺 has slaughtered there. They are just as evil as Putin for creating this junk. I hope that justice finds you all.

Promotes terrorism
sobakit19 December 2022
While Russia is bombing Ukraine, being recognised as a terrorist state and commiting crimes in Ukraine, you are glorifying the war. This is disgusting. Russian soldiers are killing thousands of children and people. They are real criminals! Russians are torchering lots of Ukrainians. We still don't know the exect number of Ukrainian people died in this war, but it could be even millions. This people died for the freedom of their country, while Russia spreads only death, hatred and horror. Stop romanticizes the real and obvious terrorism and war. How dare you can be by making this movie at all? Shame on you!

Talentless filmmaking exploration of a conflict
mkanarchuk19 December 2022
Maker attempts give relevance to their rewriting of Romeo & Juliet (ones again) using an ongoing tragedy to make up for lack of originality. There is a clear lack of nuance and awareness of the issue that was used as a prop for lousy storytelling. Author chooses to make a story about a Russian soldier (male) and a Ukrainian refugee (female) in a conflict with highest amount of well recorded cases of SA. They choose to turn it into a romantic love story, ignoring possibility for nuance, ambiguity and complexity that arise from the context that they choose to use. You have layers and layers of interesting power dynamic that war presents, yet you are being lazy and decide to make everything 2D. It's offensive not because of the subject choice but rather the lack of effort and talent.
