In this ep of "The Big Bang Theory": Penny, since she's always eating at Leonard and Sheldon's apartment, uses her commercial residual check to pay for two vintage 1975 Mego-Spock-transporter toys for Sheldon and Leonard. Neither wants to play with them since opening them would make them lose selling value. But then Sheldon dreams of you-know-who (Leonard Nimoy's voice) who tells how illogical it would be to not play with it. Meanwhile, after Howard demands Raj to tell him if he's bringing someone to his wedding, Raj tells his parents online about being ready for their matchmaking skills. So the woman they chose comes and she and Raj seem to hit it off but she has a surprise for him...Not as funny as the last few but still funny enough especially with the voice of the original Spock finally on the show! Love all the positions the Spock toy is positioned in with each camera cut and/or edit. And all of Raj's sexual vibes are also good for laughs. So on that note, "The Transporter Malfunction" was another good ep of "The Big Bang Theory".

There are two quite funny things going on. Raj, sad because he can't seem to come up with a relationship, asks for an arranged marriage. The girl is attractive but has a certain kind of baggage. The other story involves a class toy Star Trek transporter, given to Sheldon and Leonard by Penny. Because its value diminished when it is played with, they are content to leave it in the box. But a toy action figure of Mr. Spock intervenes (his voice is that of Leonard Nimoy). Sheldon opens his box with sad results.

This was an odd little episode of 'The Big Bang Theory' indeed.
It manages to mix more surreal elements with actually some deeper material.
It's all very well played out, but actually I preferred the plotline involving Raj. I said in my review of the previous episode that I hoped the creatives behind the scenes would start to explore his loneliness in more detail, and here they do so. I thought there was a nice tenderness to this storyline.
It's a bit of an odd tonal mix, but on the whole it all comes together nicely and again proves that when this show is on top form it can be very good indeed.
