Unlikely (if perfect) collaborators M.I.A. and Julian Assange have been working together since last spring, when they teamed up for Assange’s TV show The World Tomorrow, for which M.I.A. composed some original music. The WikiLeaks founder returned the favor on Friday night with a surprise appearance at M.I.A’s Terminal 5 show. Kicking off an upcoming tour for her latest album, the singer introduced her "Epic guest speaker" as a screen showing Assange was lowered. Speaking via Skype from London's Ecuadorian embassy, Assange does his best Benedict Cumberbatch impression for nearly ten minutes, talking about freedom of the press and the state of modern privacy. While Nsa chatter isn’t typical (or necessarily welcome) on a Friday night — least of all at Terminal 5 — M.I.A. fans have probably come to expect diatribes at her shows. See as much of Assange’s speech as you can handle below.

London -- They have a show. They have a social network. Now comes WikiLeaks – the album.
WikiLeaks is branching out into the entertainment industry, announcing a "Beat the Blockade" CD intended to raise money to keep the online transparency advocates afloat.
The group said in a statement late Thursday that the CD would feature 12 songs including "Where There Are No Secrets," "The Ballad of Julian Assange," and "B Manning."
It's the latest foray outside the secret-busting business for WikiLeaks, which has spawned a TV show called "The World Tomorrow" and started its own social network, called Friends of WikiLeaks.
WikiLeaks chief Julian Assange says his website, which once featured an anonymous electronic drop box for secret documents, has been effectively mothballed by a U.S. financial blockade.

London - The second episode of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange's talk show on Tuesday featured a discussion on "left and right" in politics in the 21st century with two guests whose political convictions changed over the course of their careers. On the new episode of The World Tomorrow, David Horowitz, a conservative U.S. thinker had a spirited discussion with former Slovenian anti-communist dissident Slavoj Zizek, a philosopher who later became known as a Marxist, with Assange serving as referee. Horowitz used to be a left-wing activist in the vein of the New Left and was friendly with leaders

Being under house arrest can't keep WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange out of the public eye -- he made his debut as a TV host yesterday with the first installment of "The World Tomorrow." Broadcast by Russia's government-funded Rt network as well as being available online, "The World Tomorrow" finds Assange, currently residing in an undisclosed location somewhere in England, engaging in half-hour political interviews. Of note: the series' music was composed by M.I.A. "We've exposed the world's secrets, been attacked by the powerful," Assange intones over the introductory graphics. "For 500 days now, I've been detained without charge, but that hasn't stopped us," he continues, sidestepping certain extradition battles and allegations of sexual misconduct. "Today, we're on a quest for revolutionary ideas that can change the world tomorrow." Twelve episodes have reportedly already been...

Never one to shy away from controversy, M.I.A. has moved on from flipping America the bird and her one-sided feud with Anderson Cooper, and has now teamed with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.
