Disconnected
StudleyDave27 January 2021
The story seems to bumble along without really giving any idea as to what point(s) it is trying to make, and the poor acting doesn't help. I get that it is an independent production, but a complete absence of drama and emotional connection shows that it's underdeveloped, as opposed to being nuanced, and that the Director is missing the mark. There is an element of emotion, but it feels droll as opposed to having any level of depth, with the film score and odd hallucinations/dreams/visions fighting against them, as opposed to enhancing them. Overall, a poor movie that had so much material to work with, it should have been something special

Everybody dies

Young man has cancer and dies. That's the plot. Period. He has a mother and a girlfriend who go through the usual emotions. The point of this movie may be that no one's death is special. This movie certainly isn't. It could have been a depiction of the emotional and physical trauma involved with such a situation, but it is just tedious.

Great Depiction of What Cancer Is Really Like
spencertuttle-3663730 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I have watched a lot of movies about cancer and this one shows what it's truly like to have cancer better than most. After getting treatments or after doctor tells you you can no longer move on with treatment, you're essentially bed ridden until you either feel better or die. You don't go on spontaneous trips to the park or a museum. You stay in your bed, take your medicine, and try to force down food. This movie accurately expresses what goes on inside the mind of someone with cancer and shows the frustration and messiness of the whole situation. This movie may not be pretty, heartwarming, or make you laugh, but it is one that I will go back and watch whenever I get scared that my cancer is going to come back again just because it makes me realize I'm not alone and that somebody else is feeling the same way.

more Turkey than the freezer store

Unconvincing moments that the film really needed to hang on. Terrible acting on the whole. Lazy editing or only 4 hours of film to work from? Might be fairly provoking for a young teen who never watched a film of this nature before. The music is odd, I'll-fitting and misjudged. Its there I think to try sew together completely disjointed scenes. The female lead does an okay job but I think this would be better shot in a poor house with ugly actors. That would be less twee and would make me work for it. Apart from that positive, I couldn't wait for him to die.

I enjoyed it, it is not the typical Hollywood cancer movie (already worth the time), it is slow, emotional and touching. filming, close ups, long shots, and the soundtrack is hypnotizing! very unique and dramatic.. I do think it worth watching..

I'm a real sucker for this kind of movie. There's nothing new here in the plot, I didn't expect there to be, but these movies just move me, make me appreciate life. This had the potential just as all the others do, but it delivered nothingggg! I didn't shed a tear, I didn't feel for the characters, other than the girlfriend who was an angel. So devoid of emotion. I was waiting, waiting, waiting, for some kind of turning point, but it never came. So many better selections out there if you enjoy this genre.

Great yet emotional movie

Warning: Spoilers
This movie had me in tears throughout it and then bawling towards the end. I have lost several members of both mine and my husbands family's to this terrible disease and this movie really is a great description of just how it takes ahold of your life. I am one of the lucky ones who beat it. I can honestly say that if you're wanting to watch a tear jerker movie that is accurate with this disease then you want to watch this movie. His girlfriend and mother were played perfectly. I really liked how he taped his goodbye messages for each individual person that he wanted them to go to, and how him and his girlfriend took pictures of them together. It really drew you into the movie more as in real life people do that as not just for the person but as a coping mechanism for the person going through it.
