Unconvincing moments that the film really needed to hang on.
Terrible acting on the whole. Lazy editing or only 4 hours of film to work from? Might be fairly provoking for a young teen who never watched a film of this nature before.
The music is odd, I'll-fitting and misjudged. Its there I think to try sew together completely disjointed scenes.
The female lead does an okay job but I think this would be better shot in a poor house with ugly actors. That would be less twee and would make me work for it.
Apart from that positive, I couldn't wait for him to die.
