The most pleasant viewing surprise I've had in a long time, this fourth volume in an obscure Sweet Sinner series packs a wallop. Nica Noelle takes her work seriously, and has created a video feature worth taking seriously.
Working within a storyline tradition that has become almost "All Sex" in recent years, she slips in her philosophical questions and emotional content under the guise of what seems at first the typical tongue-in-cheek porn outing. Guaranteed to be amusing at first is her casting of Manuel Ferrara as a brilliant theoretical physicist, teaching undergraduate college students while conducting ground- breaking research. I found this an incredible stretch for the sexy, "big lunk" porn superstar, but he gives a sensitive performance, still sexy but reining in his most gonzo moves in bed.
Opening scene has him taking a giddy student/groupie Bobbi Starr to his hotel room, and after she fawns over him "intellectually" Bobbi throws herself at him with inevitable hot sex results.
Starting his new job at a new university, he's called in by the worldly, knowing Dean of Students, Sincerre LeMore, an Amazonian Black actress recruited from Nica's lesbian features for her sister Sweetheart Video label. She gives him a "word to the wise" spiel on not cavorting with his female students, and we are certain he will disobey. She amusingly refers to Manuel as "the rock star in theoretical physics - you're like a god to these young women".
Though wearing glasses to look brainy, Prof. Ferrara's first day in class lecturing about Black Holes (natch) gets off to a shaky start as he misspeaks: "We'll go beyond the 3 dimensions of Space and Time" (oops, he meant four). But in later reels Nica's well-researched script explores concisely some weighty questions about Physics and the meaning of life which Manuel recites with conviction.
The extras (uncredited as usual) in his classroom include Richie Calhoun and an overage (35 years old) Alan Stafford, as well as the movie's main protagonists. Adorably cute math major Katie St. Ives is immediately smitten with her prof, but the twist is that she idolizes his mind and the world of ideas he opens up for her, not his body. This carnal vs. romantic ideal dichotomy becomes the basis for the feature's dialectic in the second half.
Katie's boyfriend and classmate Joey Brass witnesses her mooning over the prof after class, and goes to visit her at her home, not having heard from her at all in three days. In a cameo Nica Noelle plays Katie's mom, deeply concerned that her daughter is holed up in her room, not listening to rock & roll or doing drugs but rather glued to her books and working non-stop on equations and mathematical proofs. Again, what seems like a humorous reversal, especially presented in a porn context, of a mother's worries proves significant later on.
Joey manages to cheer Katie up and divert her from her educational obsession with a roll in the hay, and then he goes to see Dean LeMore and raise questions about the negative effects the new physics prof is having on his impressionable students, in particular his girlfriend. "His theories have not been proved; they could all be just a bunch of gibberish", he contends.

Casting of Sincerre is brilliant for the next twist: she tells Joey she knows all about what's going on, and pointedly reminds him that he's been having an affair with her. Announcing: "I'm the one in charge here", she dominates the boy physically and emotionally, humping him then and there on the couch in her office.
With a shaved-head Sinead O'Connor hairdo and huge natural breasts, the large woman LeMore is an impressive contrast with little (but big-dicked) Brass. Kudos to Nica for giving her a role as a real person, not idealized (hers is an unsympathetic character) but a formidable, non-stereotyped woman in control.
Katie has spiraled downward, hanging out in a bare, unfurnished room away from home to not be disturbed as she works on her proofs. Manuel visits her with good advice: "Math and physics create more questions than answers sometimes, and it's easy to become obsessed. You can feel so close to understanding some huge question about the universe, but it can be just an illusion."
He continues: "We live and die without understanding the universe or our place in it". Despondent that she is no closer to her goal, Katie responds: "I can't accept that". Manuel concludes: "The meaning of life can only come from you", from inside. They smooch and make love on the mattress lying on her floor, and as in all of Nica's movies sex provides a release leading to an open ending.
Clearly not a feature for the cynics who make fun of porn while addicted to it, or prefer to fast-forward through the "talky sections" to get to the XXX action, "Teacher 4" has life lessons tucked away in its package of arousing sex scenes.
