Bird is a beautiful film. The pace, the cinematography and the characterizations are all just fabulous, but it's the human story itself which is so gorgeous, although I suspect that had it not been for the care taken is these technical areas the story may not have quite the same punch. The two main characters have a relationship which, in terms of their individual characters is rather upside-down from our usual expectations today, but the reasons for this are all well explained during the course of the film. I saw this short film in the "School of Life" category at the London Film Festival in 2011. Two big names (one very well known director and one famous actor) appeared in other films in the line-up. But Bird absolutely blew me away. I hope I see more from these directors whom, by the way I do not know!
