Jonathan hasn't been attending work, and looks like losing his job, his attentions turn to Spencer, who's been invited to Laser Quest.
It's marginally better than the first episode, but it's still about as funny as opening a pint of milk, and finding out that it's off.
At least Jonathan shows a little more backbone, a little bit of spirit, his efforts to make his life better, through little Spencer's, are quite sweet and well meaning.
None of these characters are likeable, that's got to be one of the main issues. The only person I've half warmed to is Courtney, and I assume she's meant to be the villain of the piece.
These bittersweet shows work when it's balanced, and so far we've had bitterness, and a definite lack of sweetness, they can't simply have five episodes of besting Jonathan down, and some sort of positivity in the sixth.
It's just not working out somehow, 5/10.
