My overall rating of "Bron/Broen"'s Season 1: 5/10
There are things that work in some settings, and don't in others. Try as I might, I don't believe in a vast homelessness problem, their forsaken camps etc in the welfare-states of Scandinavia. Try as I might, I don't believe in cops acting blatantly unethically by threatening possible informants, striking deals with criminals for access etc - when actually I know for a fact the police is even afraid to book legitimately threatening people. I don't believe that in Scandinavia, shopowners would attempt to physically restrain a female hobo-thief - when I know for a fact their laws not only disallow people to use force to defend their property, but even their physical safety.
This episode probably has Saga, whom I love, at her least likable - all the pick-up stuff aside, why do these lovebirds go to sleep with several lightsources on simultaneously? And why does she keep her top on? And how does the guy dress up in a second offscreen? Is he a fireman, or in the military?
Nonsense, all of it.
(I've watched this series in original languages with English subtitles)
