Finally an anime that gets girls/women right
dreamlife61320 August 2022
This was such a sweet, funny, heart-felt series. It is definitely in my top series of all time.

The girls seem realistic in the depiction of their extremely quirky personalities and otaku status. I could relate on many levels to their social anxiety. The comedy in this show is so good. Unlike most "comedies" I actually did laugh out loud on many occasions.

I really loved the ending song, though the opening was pretty cute and had really fun animation.

Unfortunately the anime just ends without resolving important plot threads. Also I'm not sure how sensitive the depiction of the cross-dressing character was and it may not hold up so well now.

Still I wish there were more anime like Princess Jellyfish aimed at women rather than the typical fare: action/scifi/fantasy anime aimed at boys and men, perverted anime aimed at boys and strange men, supposed anime aimed at girls but most likely aimed at boys or strange men based on the questionable character designs of the girls and women. While it has its flaws, Princess Jellyfish is about as good as it gets and I would recommend it to any and all female anime fans.

Kurage Hime

Warning: Spoilers
Tsukimi is an otaku and jellyfish enthusiast whose only means of coping with the world is to reject it: she and her friends live in a house they declare a man-free zone, generally avoid 'stlylish people', and spend their days blissfully bonding over geeky rituals. As misfortune would have it, their convenient existence is about to be turned on its head by the arrival of Kuranosuke, a seemingly beautiful young woman who is actually a beautiful young man. While he may be strange even by their standards, Kuranosuke embodies everything Tsukimi secretly dreams of being - a princess as ethereal as a floating jellyfish - and promises the kind of mind-boggling adventures only possible when geek meets chic!

Absouletely sweet and funny series

Warning: Spoilers
I like how we get to see a drag queen wanting to help out a young girl build up her confidence because she lives with nerdy women (NEET as they call them) and pretty much, Tsukimi is a jellyfish fan because of the fact, it reminds her of her late mother when she took her out to an Aquarium to see some jellyfish! It was even so sweet that Kuranosuke did manage to adopt a jellyfish for Tsukimi and name it Clara. I say it meant so much for Tsukimi to have a jellyfish of her own! Also whenever there is a break in between each episode, we get to hear Claras name but then when it comes back to the episode, we get to hear "Tequila" . That was hilarious but weird enough since no alcohol was involved in this lol!

Whenever Tsukimi is dressed up, I swear she is like Snow White and she is so kawaii omg! I was thinking she was going to go with Kuranosuke's brother because he seemed like a down to earth guy but very nervous. However he has some girl he eyed for and like in the manga, she pretty much goes with Kuranosuke. It's also totally ok too because like, it's go is that both characters are different in a way and like being in love with that type of person is good too!

This anime was very sweet, sad, funny and romantic, I really enjoyed watching this! 8/10

This show is incredible , i mean c'mon a jellyfish obsessed girl who become's friends with a model????? That's such an original concept!

The characters all have something special in design and character personality which is quite impressive sinds not even quite popular anime's can pull that off sometimes!
