being fat is entertainment.

I mean this show does support a healthy life style.

But they do it at the suspense of entertainment Being obese shouldn't be entertainment. It should not take a tv show to lose weight.

What can be learned? Lay off the donuts and big macs

Verdict: Be a winner.

Very Inspirational
sallytrimble111 September 2012
I just watched the Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition for the first time and found it very inspirational. Chris Powell is great, smiling, positive, and a rock for the people he helps. I learned a couple great tips, such as keeping frozen fruits and vegetables on hand for times when the fresh things aren't so fresh in the fridge anymore! Also I learned the six-day rule for exercise, where doing the same exercise for more than six days begins to not be as effective, which is a mistake I was making. I am now planning a better routine with a mix of exercises. It was great to find out something I was doing wrong in my own never-ending weight loss battle. Thank you for this show!

Yes -The Greatest Show about Extreme Weight Loss - EVER
PartialMovieViewer7 August 2013
Warning: Spoilers
This is the best show on TV…about people going through extreme weight loss – it really, really is. This is actually an amazing show. Even minor losses are success stories. Those who prevail should be very proud of any accomplishment and I support them yelling from rooftops. Chris Powell is very supportive and provides the necessary kick in the butt – when needed. A very inspiring show and actually provides some exercises good for one and all. This is not my kind of show. But even shows I have no interest in – if they are done right – I will acknowledge them. Keep up the good work and keep helping those who need it.

How demoralizing!

I've never seen this show, and had actually never heard of it until one of the former contestants just passed away. I'm absolutely horrified that people find this "entertaining". I thought, as a society, we had stopped abusing and making light of obese people. Yes, I know, being overweight, overly overweight, is not good for a person. I know this, because I have been obese most of my life. But there are better, safer, healthier ways to loose weight, and not having to go on tv shouldn't even be thought of. I know on other networks that they have tv shows with obese people trying to looses weight, meet with a doctor to get surgery to help them, and then provide after care post surgery, provide mental health experts to help them understand the whys and how's they got in their current condition.

Making someone loose weight in a competition, that apparently people love to watch, is akin to advent times going to the arenas to watch gladiators kill for amusement, or even worse, bear bating. Why on earth would a viewer get enjoyment watching people struggle to loose a lot of weight in a short amount of time?! It's unhealthy, unnatural, and ABC, their producers, cast, crew, and anyone who watches this should be ashamed of themselves. They may think they are "helping" the contestants loose weight, but I'm betting that over 90% of the audience just watches this shows and makes fun of them from the comfort of their home.

I don't know which show in the history of reality tv is worse: this or "The Apprentice". In this case, I'd say it's an even split. Please, stop watching this show, as it gives tv stations the approval they so desperately want to keep people entertained. I would rather watch the Animal Planet show "Noodlin" about people using their arms to catch catfish than this horror of a show.
