The Bus Pants Utilization

Warning: Spoilers
Though I greatly like the series, this episode gets my goat. Actually Sheldon gets my goat. Though he is a genius, I think, from a conversation I had with my sister, that Sheldon has Asbergers. (Is that how one spells it?) That he can't help. But in this episode, more than any other, he comes across as a supreme narcissist. Everything is ALL ABOUT HIM. That anyone can help, even a little, if they work on it. He doesn't want to and so he is insufferable. He even wants to absorb his other friends accomplishments and glory. He has some humane moments but in the long run he is too high maintenance for me. Sorry if that makes me insensitive, but dealing with such a person would erode ones own life and even sanity.

The Bus Pants Utilization (#4.12)

Warning: Spoilers
In this episode we get to see how tough it is to deal with Sheldon sometimes. He is being very annoying which makes us laugh. I like how in the beginning when he divided responsibilities he made Raj be on the phone because it will make their company seem big like they have an overseas call center. Penny giving him the idea about being sarcastic was pretty good. And I actually like her app idea!

King Sheldon
Hitchcoc9 October 2021
When Leonard gets an idea for an App, Sheldon jumps in and takes over everything. He is so insufferable that he gets kicked off the team (more than once). He bullies and at one point plays the therimin with its whiny sound. The final scene with Penny is pretty funny, but the episode isn't the best.

"The Bus Pants Utilization" isn't as funny as other eps of "The Big Bang Theory" though there are still some moments
tavm9 October 2011
In this last season ep of "The Big Bang Theory": Leonard has an idea for an app. All the guys are enthused especially Sheldon who assumes he's the leader but since it's Leonard's idea, he wants to be in charge. So Sheldon condescends to him until Leonard has enough and fires him. Sheldon then tries to get Howard and Raj on his side for an independent project to no avail. So Sheldon annoys them with his theremin playing the "Star Trek" (The original series, of course) theme. When he's thrown out of his own apartment, Shel is on the stairs playing "Nobody Knows the Trouble I've Seen" as Penny arrives from work. After a few minutes with him, Penny tries to get Sheldon to apologize to his former roommate...Since there are no guest stars and no Bernadette or Amy and Sheldon is more annoying than usual, this isn't a very funny ep of "The Big Bang Theory" though there are still worthy moments that make "The Bus Pants Utilization" worth a look. Oh, and I also wasn't too crazy about the final scene. I know the next ep is better so I'm going to review that now...

Sheldon Coopers transformation
RandomFan202227 September 2022
This might be the episode that turned Sheldon from a socially awkward, but unaware person into a manipulative bully. Watching him repeatedly try to sabotage the others' work was painful. It was much funnier when he didn't get it, but didn't push it.

Remember the episode when they couldn't find a Sheldon approved restaurant near a Sheldon approved theater and they just left him? And he understood why? Now THAT Sheldon was funny.

As the show goes on, Sheldon gets worse. More bullying, more obnoxious, less endearing. This is the one that started his boorish behavior. Chuck Lorre, you done us wrong!

Very quickly with sitcoms you realised what you can't do. You can't make Frasier Crane for example so overbearing that he becomes unlikeable, you can't make Joey Tribbiani too dim. With 'The Big Bang Theory' you can't make Sheldon Cooper too annoying so that we wonder why the others are friends with him.

This episode falls into this trap, and it doesn't make for a fun time at all. I'd have told him where to go even earlier than Leonard does here, and carry on with the project without him.

It's not a great episode, it misjudges what makes the character of Sheldon work, and doesn't end up working at all.

Hard episode to watch
decc018 June 2022
Season 4 started off strong so I had high hopes continuing on. There's a bit of good Sheldon script at the start but it just gets worse as the episode goes on. Nothing super substantial happens in this episode so do yourself a favour and just skip.
