    Caroline Forbes : [shakes head, scoffs]  You don't get it. Why would you? You're everyone's first choice.

  • Elena Gilbert : It would be nice to just get through one day without having to deal with any of this. No vampire mother or brother...

    Stefan Salvatore : No vampires... at all?

    Elena Gilbert : No vampires but you. I just wanna get back to normal stuff like... school and homework.

    [gasps]

    Stefan Salvatore : Oh. That sounds good to me. When do we start?

  • Caroline Forbes : [as Elena washes her hands in restroom]  So, uhm... what are you doing?

    Elena Gilbert : [surprised by voice behind her]  What?

    Caroline Forbes : Well, the point of this was to show him how much you care about Stefan, and not to hopscotch down memory lane.

    Elena Gilbert : I was just trying to make conversation.

    Caroline Forbes : Try less.

    [leaves in a huff]
