Screw the Rules in America because Shut Up... Nyeh.
theevanconley16 January 2010
This is the one that started it all; the show that caused abridging anime (and, on occasion, other things) to become an Internet phenomenon. With its parodying of obvious plot holes, clever catchphrases, and pop culture references galore, Yugioh Abridged has humor that nearly anyone can enjoy.

And yet, even amidst all of the hilarious and incredibly quotable lines, the Abridged Series still manages to retain the basic plot elements of the Yugioh Anime. People who have never seen the show, yet have watched the Abridged Series, actually begin to develop interest in the original series (I've seen it happen). Because of this, the series also serves as a great way to introduce your friends to Yugioh... in a way that's slightly more acceptable than usual.

LittleKuriboh, the man that writes, edits, and voices nearly the entire show, is a comedic writer on par with the best that Hollywood has to offer, and its inconceivable that he has not been hired to write for television as of yet. The humor, with the exception of comments on Mai Valentine, is suitable for all ages, and is brilliant in both its simplicity and its timing.

For those of you reading this that have never seen the series, I think it's quite obvious I highly recommend it. For those of you who have already seen the series, I apologize for being so boring and formal, and your mother plays card games in hell.

Can't Stop Laughing!

This is the best series ever, for starters. It hits on all of the key points of the series, for example, how can Kaiba climb up the side of a cliff with a briefcase. The quotes are amazing to, like Tristan's "No matter what happens the sun will come up in a few hours." or "My voice, it gives me super strength.". Tristan says almost anything and it's funny. I think it sticks to the plot quite well. This series has many fans, and would all agree if I said that this is the best abridged series ever. I can spend fifteen hours watching it (and I have). I love this series because of all the humor. As I have said before, this series points out all the things that don't make since in the normal series. I really recommend watching it, you will not regret it.

The greatest spoof show EVER!!!!
obsessedmovies26 September 2010
I love the show Yugioh ever since I was little. I was a huge fan, and I thought it was great. And back in 2007/08 I was so happy to have discovered this show. It's hilarious! I remember when I first watched all of the episodes, I nearly peed myself. And they're still funny 3 years later! Martin Billany aka LittleKuriboh has a fantastic voice talent, great editing, and he perfectly represents the characters with hilarious lines and references. He's a genius, not to mention down right hilarious. I always reference this and NO ONE understands, and it's hilarious to see their faces. I think this is the best abridged series on the internet, PERIOD. I highly recommend this to any anime and non-anime fans who are looking for a great laugh. Proud member since 2007.

10/10.

Better than the original show Warning: Spoilers
Wow, this must be one of the very few times where the spoof was way superior to the original thing.

I don't like the Yugioh anime. In fact, I saw some episodes of it and I found it boring...However, I love this spoof. I think it is amazing what LittleKuriboh did with the characters of the series, giving them a completely new personality, or exaggerating all the off aspect of their personalities (Like for example, the fact that in the original series playing card games it's a matter of life and death, and the speeches about friendship)

Also, the way in which LittleKuriboh uses the cultural references(From movies, TV shows and even Internet memes) is unique and clever, helping a lot the development of the story.

You don't need to be a fan of Yugioh to like this series. I don't even like Yugioh and I think it is amazing!

10/10 (I would give it eleven stars if I could!)

A great watch.

Yu-gi-oh The Abridged Series, created by a lone man in England, will make you laugh. It never failed for me, an intriguing spin on a fairly uninteresting anime, with a great sense of humour, and many interesting voices that develop as the series goes on. This fairly satirical parody series will cause you to look at series' such as Yu-Gi-Oh in a whole different light; the series is great for all members of the family, with the possible exception of those under 11, and will give many memorable lines for years to come. The variety in the characters is expanded even more with the bonus episodes, such as "Evil Council Of Doom", and the incredible talent of LittleKuriboh, and occasionally, his distinguished guests. In addition to the main series, both seasons of it, you'll love the miniature songs that LK has written, copying the sounds, and changing the lyrics of various other songs. These include current songs, and slightly older ones, but all use a character voice, and either talk about his series, the original series, or the characters themselves. Overall, this series is something that nobody can truly afford to give a miss, if you haven't watched it yet, go over to youtube and do so now, you won't regret it.

About time this series reached IMDb!!!!!!!!!
BeerFairy10014 January 2010
Let me start off by saying, that the Yu-Gi-Oh series has been a big part of my childhood that I still hold dearly to me. As of now I still enjoy reading the manga and watching the anime as often as I can. Words from a wise woman: When I say something is good, it's good okay? That includes YGOTAS, and the original YGO as well as Season zero.

When I was in eight grade I saw a comment special that he made, which featured the characters Joey and Kaiba. Curious of what it was I watched it. I found it simply hilarious, and I checked out more of his videos on LK's original channel. I was hooked on the abridged series! I even told my friends about it (too bad they didn't know what I was talking about, since every one of them was a bunch of Narutards)!

Honestly, I don't think I would consider you a fan of YGO if you haven't at least seen one episode of The Abridged series. So, go.. Check it out now if you haven't! Well, you better get there before Youtube starts acting like Llyod, and Harry from Dumb and Dumber!

Super Awesome
meta_knight_4222 April 2011
I really like the way this show mocks anime and the who Yugioh franchise. I also like the way it makes out like 4Kids is an evil corporation, trying to the the Abridged series canceled. The catch phrases of the characters are well done and I often use them in real life. The one this that does not make sense about this page, however, is the there is no mention of LittleKuriboh in the voice actors, considering he is a main voice actor, anyhow....One of my favorite things about this show is the constant references to other shows, movies and games that makes it just that much more funny. Overall this is an excellent spoof that I recommend to everyone, even if they don't watch Yugioh

An awesome series!

Warning: Spoilers
This series was pretty great, almost as good as the original series! It is a must see for all Yugioh fans!Completely hilarious! I love how they make fun of all the characters, like Tristans's voice, it is true though In the original series his voice was like that.He is so useless.lol I love how bandit Keith has his saying, " in America" I like how they say how yugioh cheats, cause he really does when you come to think about it, he tapes into his alterego to duel in the original series. The first episode was funny when kaiba says ," Screw the rules, I have green hair" It adds to the comedy to, like how all the characters voices are voiced by the same person I loved it!

Seriously, f you have not seen this you do not deserve to live
beezlebozz13 January 2010
This is the best internet show ever. LittleKuriboh is a genius, well and truly. The series is very loosely based on Yu-Gi-Oh, with each character given a new persona all voiced by LittleKuriboh (Except for Jessica). The show follows the general story line of Yu-Gi-Oh, with any flaw or ridiculous point completely blown out of proportion. The show reveals what we all really think about the show, be it the shemales, ridiculous rules of the card game or how ridiculous the original actually is. I think I have laughed more over this show then I have over anything before, ever. I wish the show could become a hour long show with a new one every day, but of course thats not realistic, but I can dream.

The perfect abridged series
briancham199411 August 2020
This YouTube series is the original abridged series and remains the best. It satirises the Yu-Gi-Oh! show by pointing out all of its ridiculous plot holes while also adding its own humour and storylines. It's incredibly funny and I loved it.

It Jumped The Shark Then Drowned In The Sea Of Repetition And Boredom
EuropeanQoheleth25 May 2013
Originally it was a good enough series, most episodes were OK and some were good with episode 17 or thereabouts being a masterpiece. Then along came Duke Devlin and the show went downhill until eventually I gave up. Here's why; 1.Devlin referencing the amount of fangirls he has ad nausaeum. 2.The fact that he made Tristan sound like Barney all of the time as opposed to say, a tough guy which he actually acts and sounds like was tolerable but when you keep adding one bad thing to another things eventually get out of hand. 3.On a more nitpicky level there is one joke in the show that sucks like a hoover/vacuum cleaner/whatever; somebody mentioned the word joke and then Little Kuriboh has the Pharaoh say "Wait, isn't every religion a joke?" If you seriously need to ask what's up about this then here we go; A. He's the PHARAOH. Ancient Egypt was a theocratic absolute monarchy and the people of Egypt all were religious and believed the Pharaoh to be a god. Why would any Ancient Egyptian, especially THE PHARAOH say something like this then? B. Yet again another person just bringing up religion out of nowhere to bash it as if the internet isn't flooded with that already. 4.He had some monster saying "I'm flagging YouTube videos because I have a small penis" as if bothering to follow the rules somehow means someone is insecure as opposed to stoic. 5. The constant 80's pop culture references which eventually made the show look like Family Guy, yet more punishment for those who didn't live through that AIDS and greed-ridden decade. 6. This is the fans' fault and not Little Kuriboh's but the countless abridged series that have been made after the show got popular are both atrocioulsy numerous and of inferior quality; they are either crap or mediocre from the start; there's no shark to jump because when you're at rock bottom you can't jump over anything. 7. The theme song is usually the opening theme of the original Yu-Gi-Oh! (nicknamed Season 0) which was never dubbed into English. Not all that imaginative to say the least. When you consider that the Ancient Egyptians thought scarabs were immortal it becomes easier to see how this show got so popular and heavily referenced in YouTube comments and TV Tropes even though I've seen a much better parody of an Evangelion movie which was made in the 90's and as a result has poorer visuals. It just goes to show that superior animation quality does not a better show make.

Huh, since when does illegally stealing video, making your own words and posting it on youtube count as film making?
ShiekJ15 October 2011
Huh, since when does illegally stealing video, making your own words and posting it on youtube count as film making? That literally is all that they did. This should be taken OFF of IMDb immediately! I am surprised that these people haven't already been in court for loads of lawsuits, especially after posting their real names.

Seriously... If this is all it takes to be considered "film makers," I'll just grab a classic, say, Disney's "Alice in Wonderland," cut it down, and re-record my own script making it sound like a soft core porn. I wonder how long it would be until people start claiming I made a wonderful movie? Guess when? NEVER, because if I did that, I DIDN'T MAKE IT!

Mediocre at Best but still fun to enjoy (especially if a fan of Yugioh)
JeremyThompson5297 September 2023
Starting from basic editing, Martin Billany basically made this parody be a mere carbon-copy of late-night adult swim parody series of their own and basically made it a parody of itself. His comedic writing ranges from tasteless mean spirited and at times humorous especially when trying to pull references from all over the net and fandom to keep the series going. Calling him a legend or this series better than the actual show in my eyes is exaggerated. It's cute but a lot of the time I felt like it was more of a spit-take series to the original property than a love letter.

If you're a fan of the Yugioh series or just like to laugh, feel free to give it a watch but try not to take this series too seriously. The voice acting is fine and the editing is excellent but the writing feels almost like it's trying to be its own South Park as opposed to a parody of the actual Yugioh show itself. Martin may be a fan of Yugioh, but his this internet show definitely fails to show it especially when he takes way too much pleasure in putting down support characters with Seto Kaiba as his mouth piece while Yugi and his alter ego Yami have become stale and one note.

I do however give him props for continuing this series despite the legal and copyright issues he'd had to go through just to keep it uploaded.
