"Misfits: Episode #1.2" (2009)

Warning: Spoilers
The first episode introduced the characters and idea behind the series. Episode 2 starts to focus more on the characters and their lives. Here, the girlfriend of the gangs' probation officer is concerned with his disappearance. She takes over as their probation officer and takes them to an old people's home. Meanwhile, Nathan's mother's boyfriend is running around town naked, acting like a dog. This episode starts to look at other people that were affected by the storm. This is one of the best things about the show, as it shows that people can also get ridiculous powers. Something that has always bugged me about other superheroes is they never get uncool powers. The major point of this episode is to build a romance between Nathan and a young volunteer, Ruth. The scenes involving the pair show exactly how this show works as both comedy and drama. At the reveal, it is both horrifying for Nathan, hilarious for us, and saddening for Ruth. We feel all the emotions at once, and as the end shows us, this show and these characters have real heart.
