Probably the worst film I've ever seen
HongSifu6 November 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I bought this film as a gift for a pastor, after seeing all the awards on the cover. But before I gave it to him I was curious about the movie and decided to watch it before I gave it to him. Thank God I did, because now I have seen the movie I am not giving it to him but I am going to put it where it belongs: in the waste bin. I would be embarrassed if I had given it to him and waste 2 hours of his life. On the back of the cover it says that the film received a standing ovation. I cannot imagine anyone standing up for this film except for walking away from it. I myself am a Christian and it is probably wrong to give such critics to a Christian movie, but really, I cannot imagine that someone would give his life to Jesus Christ after seeing this. The moment the movie started it is clear to see that it is low budget. The lighting was terrible, the dialog even worse and even the sound of the voices are recorded badly. The script is ridiculous, and the acting was terrible. Spoiler: the main character Jack gets cancer, and it seems as if no one cares except one person. During his fight against cancer he is taken care of by a pastor, and Jack and his wife are separated because he slept with another woman. After they reunite and his wife forgives him, he tells her of the disease. His wife's reaction: "I don't know how, but I knew it Jack", not any sadness on her face that her husband is going to die. After that you would expect that he would go live with his wife and daughter but he doesn't seem to find it important to spend the remaining weeks of his life with his loved ones, and they leave him, not even offering to take care of him while he is dying. And what I find even worse is that this movie teaches that the dead are watching and "living" among us. His mother tells Jack that he will walk his daughter down the isle on her marriage with every step even when he is dead. This is totally unbiblical and even occult. I find it brave that the makers tried to get Jesus' message to the viewer, but it didn't convince me a bit. There are many other ridiculous things in this movie that are so bad I would say it is the worst movie I have ever seen. There are far more better ways to get to know the message of God, just go and spend two hours in church, or reading a bible.

Terrible, Terrible Movie
eboni-240-48722316 February 2015
I went with a church group to see this movie. It was actually pretty funny, but for the wrong reasons. The plot, acting, cinematography, and directing are atrocious. We found ourselves laughing at the "dramatic" parts and cringing during the one or two light parts. I totally agree with the other reviewer, this is one of the worst movies I have ever seen (maybe THE worse).

The awards this film "supposedly" received are either imaginary or paid for. This isn't even campy (so bad, it's good) fun, it's just plain bad. I can't even describe it any other way. The dialogue and plot is so unrealistic and stupid that my brain wanted to shut down. Notice how the star of this low low budget movie is also the director?!? Egomaniac much? Please don't waste your money or worse, your brain cells on this hot piece of crap. . . I wanted to give it a zero but 1 was the lowest I could go.
