A Weaker Moment in the Twenty First Season but Still Fun,
lesleyharris3023 December 2014
Rednecks and Broomsticks is a good Simpsons episode with a well written storyline and lots of very funny scenes. It is certainly a weaker episode of the twenty first season, the main plot wasn't that enjoyable to me,seeing Lisa practicing witchcraft could have been fun but it simply didn't turn out as well, and having her even believe that sort of thing is sort of contradicting the intelligent Lisa we've come to know. The sub plot was a lot more fun to me,it's the main reason I'm giving this an eight and thought it easily could have been it's own episode, seeing Homer and Cletus bond was absolutely hilarious as they are both easily some of the stupidest characters on the show and seeing them making moonshine together was a delight. Its not the worst nor is it the finest episode of the Twenty First Season, but Rednecks and Broomsticks is still a very enjoyable Simpsons episode.

Lisa becomes friends with three girls learning witchcraft.Meanwhile,Homer becomes good friends with Cletus and soon becomes an expert on moonshine.

Rednecks and Broomsticks Episode Review

One thing that I like about the 21st season of The Simpson's it's that it's taking the strengths the show it had on the first season. The last week episode deal with the obsession that many people have with the "organic food" and now this episode took a much serious approach on massive hysteria that people have regarding the unknown, which I thought it was fantastic but the script was a little weak compared to last week episode. In Rednecks and Broomsticks while coming back from a ski vacation the family has to make an emergency stop that makes Homer hang out with Cletus as soon he discovers that Cletus makes an illegal liquor that Homer grows fond of it; on the second story while the stay with Cletus and his family Lisa got lost in the woods while playing hide and seek and she meets a Wicca coven which she befriends with but while Lisa is investigating about Wicca beliefs Ned Flanders thinks she is worshiping the devil and start a series of events that almost kill Lisa new friends. I give this episode a 3.5 over 5 because it was original and enjoyable to watch. On a side note do you know that the guest star of this episode Neve Campbell started in another Wiccan themed movie called The Craft.

This episode was a real dud for me, not very funny and felt very slow paced.

It was nice to see Lisa doing a bit more in a Series 21 episode though.
