Well-known Tamil actor Parthiban has said that his character in director Mani Ratnam’s much-awaited magnum opus, ‘Ponniyin Selvan 1’, might be small but it is as significant as a bookmark in a book.
Participating in the recently held audio and trailer launch of the film, in which he plays the significant character of Chinna Pazhuvettaraiyar, the commander in-charge of the Tanjore fort, Parthiban said: “My character is as small and as significant as that of a page that serves as a bookmark.”
Explaining what he meant by that, he said: “When we read a book, we usually fold the top corner of a page to let us know where we have stopped reading it. The mark, which usually helps a reader resume from that point on, actually splits the book into two parts. Similarly, my character in this film too, though small, will be significant.”

Actress Andrea is busy shaking her legs day and night. Know what? The actress has joined a dance class to develop the skills. Making her debut with ‘Pacchaikili Muthucharam’, Andrea never had an opportunity to dance. Even in the most overpowering song of ‘Oh Eesa’ of ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’, it was Reema Sen, who had more footage to dance. However, Andrea hasn’t given up the hope and is now vigorously gaining those skills.
The actress is now shooting for her upcoming film ‘Idhu Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam’, in which she shares the screen space with Dhanush. The film is directed by Selvaraghavan and is produced by his father Kasthoori Raja under the banner of Rk Productions.
The rumors about her affairs with Selvaraghavan have slightly got trivialized on its course and maybe, soon after the release, things may catch up again.

Ags Entertainment has produced this film at a big budget with grand sets erected to bring the right feel.
With a long way left for summer vacations to end, the producers are sure that releasing this film at this point will have big response.

‘Oh pardon us! We don’t wanna get into risks’ – says one of the dealers of pirated home videos. It’s been nearly couple of weeks and the quantity of DVDs and CDs of ‘Thamizh Padam’ is relatively low when compared even with the biggest productions like ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’, ‘Asal’ and ‘Goa’.
Most of the bazaars and markets aren’t selling the home videos of ‘Thamizh Padam’ and ‘Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai’ as the respective departments are so vigilant over it. Thank God!
