The New Night Agent
AvionPrince1627 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
So we basically see Peter stop the threat against the president by saving her against the bomb. Farr is going to be confronted to justice and Rose have her revenge of the death. The episode was pretty tense and really make tension escalate more mostly at the end when Peter is surrounded by the agents who believe his guilt about the president and the bomb explode in the plane. Peter also have the truth about his dad and he was guilty because he confessed it in a video. So whats next for season 2? We know that Peter and Rose are in couple and that Peter is promoted to be a night agent. So yeah i will definitely wait s for season 2 for sure. Pretty impatient. It was a good season.

Stunning finale.
Sleepin_Dragon24 December 2023
Peter and Rose find a way into Camp David, where they discover a massive plot to take down The President, and discover exactly who is behind it.

It's definitely been an exciting and dramatic series, and against all odds, a Netflix series climaxes with a brilliant, dramatic, action packed episode.

I've too often had my hopes built up by a series, only to have them dashed in the finale, this was a major surprise. I loved the ending, and wow, a proper ending.

I didn't feel as though they gave us the usual piece of rotten meat, leading into a second series. After this though, I am actually looking forward to the second series.

It hasn't felt like a tick box exercise.

Phenomenal acting, Gabriel Basso was tremendous, what a talented guy, I look forward to seeing more from him.

9/10.

Excellent show! (With one gripe)

I loved this series the first time I watched it. When I recommended it to my wife, I loved it again as I watched it with her.

Despite my best efforts to be a feminist, I'm still a man, raised in a man's world, so I sometimes miss things that may stand out to a woman. So it was my wife who pointed out a fairly major oversight at the end of the final episode.

Peter was the hero and title character of the show, that's true. But he couldn't have done any of it without Rose's help, and Rose is the only one who didn't get any kind of special consideration at the end. Peter got an exciting new assignment. Chelsea got a new gig on the President's detail. Even Maddie, whose idiocy allowed the advancement of the bad guys' plot, is looking forward to studying art in Rome. While Rose sits on the hood of a car looking pretty, watching her man fly away into the sunset.

Don't get me wrong, I still loved the show and am eagerly looking forward to the next season, but I really hope they address this oversight and give Rose a little more consideration.

Netflix, is that you?

What a nice surprise, no cliffhanger ending. And what a bombastic final episode! This show literally came out of nowhere. The first couple of episodes have some writing issues here and there, but it doesn't really hurt as the pacing, acting and directing are great.

I'm surprised that Netflix decided to wrap up 95% of the storyline. They usually leave us (cliff) hanging only to cancel the show for good and most of the time for no reason. Season 2 is already announced and I'm here for it!

This show has a rare trend: It gets better with each episode and each new character that is introduced. Plus, the pacing is fantastic.

Great ending for a great show
jmml-714221 April 2023
Acting and characters are great, you could see how they evolved and understand all of them. Already wanna see the second season and repeat the tension between episodes, this was a great action series.

Peter does a great acting and all his crew. Also the bad guys were spotless, grest characters with hard truths on them.

Really great show, hope the cast read all this reviews, we can see your hard word, thank you for that!

This show deserve a high ranking, as the other review said, it came from nowhere from suggestions on Netflix, but was a great surprise. Already in my list to follow, hope it launches soon.

Great from start to finish.

Good to see drama with enough reality mixed in. Baddies have almost good reasons, good guys are not always nice or right. There was enough doubt and uncertainty in the bad guys, good guys and plenty whose allegiance is unclear.

Acting was good. Writing had just the right balance of suprise and predictablility. Not all predictability is bad. Human nature needs some predictability to make the watchers feel part of the action. This had the right amount.

Good to have story complete with no loose ends.

Bring on season 2. Netflix please commision more from these guys. This is award winning stuff.

The Night Agent shines in its casting and bingeability - Season 1 Review
phoenix-prjct10 January 2024
The Night Agent, based on the novel of the same name by Matthew Quirk (which I wished I'd known before watching the show since I prefer reading first), would be a shallow and paint-by-numbers action thriller if not for the heart its cast gives it with genuine and layered performances. Fans of the Bourne films or, more recently coming to mind, Reacher, will find themselves at home with this diluted but surprisingly effective binge-watch.

A shaky beginning finds confidence in its parts to piece them into a fun conspiracy puzzle, but, in my opinion, it could lose a couple episodes and you'd still fly through its 10-part run at lightning speed.

Plus, it's a show Netflix has renewed (oh my god, a renewal), and with the talent involved, might be one worth investment.

Great show with a good season final
Just-A-Girl-148 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I really enjoyed this season. I just finished binge watching it and I can't wait for a second season.

This last episode was good. I really enjoyed the scenes at the containers lot and at Camp David (especially the scene near the helicopter).

CAREFUL: SPOILERS ALERT

As for the season final, I was mostly satisfied with it. It's great to see the good guys win! They tied up the loose ends and finished the story quite nicely. I was a little disappointed that Peter's father was not the good guy Peter thought he was. I was hoping he was framed and that Peter would get the chance to clear his name. I know it's a cliche and it's been done a million times before but I don't care. I love watching the good guys win and I thought that maybe the season would end with Peter finding new information about his father. Something that would be a stepping stone for next season. It's just makes sense, since Peter is such a decent person with good moral values that so was the man who raised him. I was hoping he would be able to clear his name but I guess they didn't want to go down that road. They did leave lots of room for more to come since Peter is now a Night Agent. Not really sure how Rose fits into it though. It would be great to see them work together again. It's a shame she wasn't recruited somehow to join the FBI. With some good training she could easily work with Peter and the both of them can do whatever it was her aunt and uncle were doing. I guess we'll have to wait and see what is coming next for the two of them. I hope we see Chelsea again too btw. I loved her character.

I also loved that they didn't end the show with a cliffhanger. I guess they didn't know what success this show would have and they wanted to give the viewers a decent ending just in case. I very much appreciate it! I hate watching shows that ends without giving the viewers the answers we were looking for. It makes me feel like I've wasted my time and it's very frustrating.

So all in all it was a great show and I would definitely watch the second season once it's released.

Depends on a Lot of Things Going Right
Hitchcoc10 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Like so many of the episodes, this series depends on good fortune and timing. As the President makes her way to Camp David, Peter and Rose get Farr to take them in in the trunk. Those guards at the entrance are a pack of buffoons. The are talked out of looking in the trunk by a lot of threatening verbiage. The VP and his daughter are in the bunker below everything, waiting for an explosion. He is already deciding who he will pardon, once this is over. He is decidedly wacko. But then we have Peter becoming a superhero and Rose breaking into the place that controls all the tech and managing in a couple minutes to get the thing to go off the rails. In a standoff at the end, Peter holds the President at knifepoint until her helicopter is searched for bombs. Of course, it has to take two tries. We don't actually see the bad boys taken away, but can one imagine what this news would have done to the country. Anyway, don't think too much; believe in what is right; and enjoy all the pyrotechnics.

Uneven is an understatement
dgmendez-606029 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
It's hard for me to fathom that the president would be allowed to land at camp David while the comms were down. Similarly, head of secret service didn't think this was cause for alert? Also, no way Peter survives putting a gun to the president's head. And his arrest being so casually waived off was laughable.

I appreciate the series has characters that are more than cartoons. That alone elevates this show above most of the drivel being rammed down our throats nowadays.

But the leaps of logic are too large and too commonplace. Overall, the production seems disinterested if not outright lazy. Too bad, really- a lot of positives to go along with the glaring negatives.
