A man serving life in prison for the murder of a teenage girl gets murdered inside the prison just as his case was about to be re-opened 15 years after the crime. DCI Janine Lewis and her team are at a dead end, since none of the other inmates are especially willing to co-operate with the police. So Richard has a bold idea, which he keeps secret from the rest of the team: he will go undercover as a prisoner and investigate the case from the inside.
Due to the shorter running time format of the 5th season of "Blue Murder" (45 instead of 70 minutes), the pacing of "Inside" is quicker than that of most of the previous episodes, but the mystery is slighter as well (there are only 3 real suspects). New girl on the block, Kat, is a more experienced and businesslike version of Lisa. **1/2 out of 4.
