(S3. E7) My Live Reaction / Review for True Blood Season 3 Episode 7 ''Hitting the Ground''. Episode 6 was good and I gave it a rating of 9/10. Let's see if this one is better or worse. Lorena is dead, finally, I hated her. Hoyt doesn't seem like he likes his new girlfriend, he probably wants Jessica back. I hope they will be back together soon, they are perfect for each other. So first Bill almost died and now Sookie is almost dead because of Bill, very ironic. Wow, Sam's parents force his brother to do dogfighting? These people are awful. I like that Sam wants to protect his little brother. The King killed the Magister? That probably means more trouble soon coming. My rating is 9/10.

TB continues...to disappoint. Suh-keh stakes Lorena, and with Tara and Alcide's help manages to rescue a bloody Beeel from Russell's "Kingdom". (This is one of the most over-the-top "acting" jobs by AP so far -- and it's quite enervating.) Sam checks out the local dog fighting scene where Tommy is fighting and eventually rescues him.
This series, quite unfortunately, has slowly but surely devolved into little more than a really bad soap opera. (i.e. Alcide to Debbie: "You loved me once. I know you did." Debbie to Alcide, while she's pointing a gun at his head: "I'd a given up everything for you. But you wouldn't even give me a baby". Please...somebody call General Hospital...STAT...I think I'm a gonna be seeeeck.) And...needless to say...Debbie lost her Cooter in this merry-go-round of an episode.
From the mouths of babes...Jason: "I never thought I was smart enough to get depressed...but here I am." Summer professes her like for Hoyt, and she puts her oven where his mouth is...by bringing over some warm, freshly baked biscuits. (To be honest...Jason seemed more interested in her biscuits than Hoyt.) Eric threatens to harm Hadley unless Sophie-Anne tells him what she knows about Sookie. Beeel gets a bit carried away feeding on Sookie, bringing her to the point of death. Tara does her best Dawn from BtVS/"GET OUT!!!!!!" imitation as she kicks Bill out of the van into broad daylight, where it appears as if Sookie's blood helped prevent him from turning into a toasted marshmallow on a stick.
On the flip side...Sookie has no known blood type and it's making transfusing her difficult, leaving her in a coma. But not to worry... Beeel later saves the day....Zzzzzzzzzzzzz...Russell gives "The Magister" a lesson on authority, and allows him to go to the head of the class. (the ONLY saving grace in this otherwise boring episode) And Sookie turns out to be a fairy? Hmmmmmmmmmm....and all this time...I thought it would be Lafayette...
(So far...the only merciful thing about this episode is that they didn't show Melinda Mickens naked after a shape shift.)
Aside from a brief tease of Townes Van Zandt's "Waitin 'Round To Die", the music that once energized this series is all but non-existent in this episode. In its place is some cheesy "Dark Shadows"-like soundtrack. The only good thing I can say about it is that it matches the cheesy acting, writing, and directing. TB is going to need some serious "V" in order to get its heart pumping again.
