I am a fan of Ivan Botha since watching Pad Na Jou Heart back in 2014. It was the first movie my husband and I watched together, so it will always have a special place in my heart. But for me it went slowly downhill, movie-wise and Beurtkrag is the worst so far. They are just fighting and it is such a depressing, dark, negative film. I was hugely disappointed.
Beurtkrag / Load shedding is no fun and a new relationship / moving in together can be a huge struggle but I still think that they would have done better with a less dark movie and rather gone a more happy / romantic route!? I don't know... I did watch the trailer before seeing the movie and I was SO looking forward to a new movie with them, hoping it will be a great one again. Unfortunately not. But I am curious to read more reviews and opinions on it. And if Ivan Botha ever reads this - I am sorry. I love you! :D.
