New friends
Calicodreamin31 December 2021
Loved to see the girls branching out and getting with new friends, it's refreshing and the new characters fit in well with vibe of the show. A few good laughs and a few honest moments.

Decent episode. It was less woke than the previous episodes, and it contained less of the annoying character Che (which is wonderful.) This episode felt a little bit more like the SATC we all knew and loved.

Great episode

Warning: Spoilers
It seems they could return to the old mood of SATC episodes with this 4th. Fun & well written you can feel sine fresh air with the arrival of Carrie's new friend.

I know we're not supposed to compare the two shows but this episode was really the best so far. Sadly Stanford is gone... I can't imagine how difficult that was to cast...

Embarrassing.
NicoleL8827 December 2021
I wonder did the writers actually believe they were being "on trend" and addressing "racial issues" with this one because they weren't and Jesus Christ, it was hard to sit through. This episode was embarrassing for all involved: writers, actors and viewers alike.

The episode should have been titled "Some of my best friends are ethnic" because that's what the episode (and entire mini series) proceeds to beat you over the head with with absolutely no substance to it at all. There's literally nothing else to say because this episode is just a sad attempt at an attempt to be "woke", topical and relevant. It's the equivalent of something that would have been broadcast in the early 1980's, except I don't think the audiences would have been insulted with characters that act mind numbingly idiotic: "I got you a coffee!" - "I got YOU a coffee!"

Want to highlight racial issues? Do it with tact and a modicum of actuality. Not like this steaming heap of embarrassment.

Some New Friends
insomniacsandsun16 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
It's great to see some new faces, and FINALLY learn more about them.

NYA: When she talks about her reservations around becoming a mother, it's really honest and refreshing. The myth that all women are 100% confident about starting a family (and 100% happy after having one) is something we don't talk about nearly enough. I also appreciate that she has such a supportive, loving, and healthy relationship with her husband.

LISA: It's fun to have another "society mom" on the show. She's bright, savvy, and influential. I still want to see more of her before I offer additional opinions about Lisa.

SEEMA: She's a strong woman who isn't afraid to speak her mind, and to also be vulnerable. No, she's not Samantha 2.0, she's her own woman. Seema is beautiful, confident, and utterly genuine. For whatever reason, finding a man is harder in the big city. (I've experienced this in my own search for romance.) She's happy with her life, but struggles to find romance. I like where they're going with her character.

I think I said it in a previous review, and I'll say it again: SATC didn't have a very diverse cast, and I'm glad that AJLT is being more inclusive. The show is better because of it.

I keep trying to like this....
kirbenjamin27 December 2021
...but alas, I cannot. The writing seems way too wink-winkish, cheeky, and completely self conscious. It's so cringeworthy it's almost worse than the second movie. I'm only hanging in for nostalgia's sake.

The worst episode yet!
mariaeforeman27 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
What even was this episode?! Absolutely nothing of interest happens nor does it move the storyline along.

Carrie overreacting about the glass in the picture frame smashing when she literally hasn't even removed Big's ashes out of the cardboard box he was sent to the apartment in, is just ridiculous! She loves/loved him so much that she's left him in a cardboard box in the cupboard?! Ok then.

Miranda talking IVF with her professor and saying that Charlotte had the "hardest time" with IVF? Did she? From what I remember she had two failed attempts & a miscarriage and then when she stopped trying, she 'miraculously' fell pregnant naturally...which for anyone else like me who has actually been through multiple IVF rounds, is the most irritating and recurring narrative writers love to put in films/shows. Also, if the professor is mid cycle with an IVF round, she would NOT be drinking ffs.

And how they've written out Stanford...wow. Blink & you would've missed it. They did not do his character justice with that one.

I so wanted to like this show but the storyline & writing is atrocious and the acting not much better.

That's it?

Warning: Spoilers
Although this episode isn't as cringy as others, there is little to no substance and no point to the episode. You blink and it's over. They spent all of 1 minute discussing Stanford - I'm not sure what the best way for them to address him 'leaving' (due to his real life passing), but the way they did it was NOT it. Disappointing and didn't do justice to both Willy or his character. I also am not a fan of the new Seema character either. Hoping things pick up.

Awful and disgustingly bad. Spoiler alert..this sucks!
hpcmakeup23 December 2021
How embarrassing that in 2021 we have a scene of a woman saying she has to be a mom to fit in with society..and tells Miranda not to tell anyone! A professor is embarrassed to do IVF in NYC in 2021?? That's a disgusting man writing what he thinks women think..no one is embarrassed to talk about trying to get pregnant. That is terribly sexist! Also the professor would not be drinking.. The scene with Charlotte confusing a black woman with someone else is like a terrible show from 1950 not 2021. Wow Charlotte can talk about art work done by black artists...everyone is shocked by that...in 2021!!! In NYC!! Stupid!!!

SJP should be embarrassed by this absolute crap! Also with all the Chris Noth allegations maybe edit out the rest of the big story line.

Boring
vanessajsmith-0054824 December 2021
After watching the first three episodes, and during the week's wait for this episode I went back and started rewatching the original series. Finally I sat down to watch episode 4. What happened? It was boring then over! I hope this series improves and stops trying to tick boxes.

Not Just Dumb...Bad Writing and WORSE Acting
jennyboyd-5575326 December 2021
Ok. I'm done. One last try, but the stupidity, desperation, and manipulation, have proven to be too much. Bad writing and worse acting have made this intolerable. AND, I just couldn't make it past SJP's ridiculous white tutu skirt. Switched back to VEEP! 💜.

Utterly Dire
aufo-9128124 December 2021
For a start- Miranda and Charlotte both look way to old to have kids that age.

Charlotte is becoming even more unhinged in her quest to fit in perfectly with 'good society. I can't bear to watch her now.

Carrie- it's not the same without her weekly column and her Big romance.

I don't agree Chris Noth should be edited out based on allegations. If they are proven true- that's something else.

Charlotte and Miranda acting as if they never met a black person before- really? Miranda had an affair with dreamy Blair Underwood.

I doubt even the fabulous Samantha could work her PR magic on this disaster.

They used to be like normal people you could relate to- but just like that- I've cancelled my record button.

Did anything happen in this episode??
phildexter23 December 2021
Utterly dull show. They just love to kill off characters and ruin their bond we as an audience came to love over the years, as a device for their partners to date again.

Very disappointing
silvialiao30 December 2021
I am very disappointed with it. And almost laughed when the show tries to make it radically equal?? So why aren't they making any Asian friends? Their new friends are basically none white version of themselves. I don't understand the thinking or the point the writer trying to make.

Fire the writers
hollielou198610 January 2022
Was this episode written by someone who just recently binged the original SATC? Because that's what it seems like. Like someone who never watched it when it originally aired, binged it in 2021, viewing it through the lense of today's American society, and then got hired to write an entire episode of it today, therefore having absolutely no idea who these beloved characters are and how this show, in its original form, changed many aspects of television and pop culture in a way that made a lot of what you're seeing today on TV possible.

Keli Goff? Is that you? Please do us all a favor and go back to contributing your unimportant opinion on politics and race on MSNBC and stop trying to entertain us with your propaganda. It's cute that you probably honestly believe that this is what white people think of black people. In NYC. In 2021. I mean, really. How dense can you be? And for crying out loud, Stanford was simply a last minute thought. Its not like the man was essentially the 5th main character, and that's how you send him off? Shameful.
