Having seen the first episodes, I found the first episode fair but the second was badly researched.
The second episode was set in the Western Cape and Gregg visits Franschhoek and Bokaap. In Franschhoek he is given 3 golfball shaped balls which was supposed to be a gastro version of bobotie. Sadly it looked nothing like the traditional Cape Malay version of bobotie which features a savoury custard on top.
Then he visited a Cape Malay household in Bokaap. The Cape Malay population are brought up as Muslims and Gregg was given the Cape Malay version of the koeksister which is a very sweet dough based delight.
Gregg proceeded to eat his koeksister with his left hand which is a big no-no in Muslim culture. One would have thought his researchers would have given him a heads up about the etiquette required in the places he visits!
