Following Through
JordanThomasHall4 September 2020
While working on an important speech, Martin is constantly interrupted by Patty catching up on her chores. He tells Patty how much more efficient it would be if she did chores as they came up. Furthermore, he says she lacks ability to follow through with things. Martin finds his secretary sent over by mistake money given from readers for the Fresh Air Fund. He tasks Patty with taking it to the bank to deposit. Richard stops Patty passing by for a trivial matter and causes her to miss making the bank in time. She sidesteps questions to hide it from her father. When he finds the money hidden, he realizes Patty misled him. Meanwhile, Patty finds the book she hid the money in, "The Red and the Black", is gone. She goes to the library where Ross left to return it, but it's already been checked out again. Patty and Richard begin a hunt for the person who checked the book out. Patty may not be the only one with a lesson to learn about following through.
