UNBYTRACTIVE is an amazingly novel and insightful short film from the UK. It begins with a couple men arriving at a young man's home and dragging him off to some sort of prison. There, they brutalize him and he's wondering why--why is this all happening?! However, in a very, very clever twist, you learn that the man is NOT in a brutal prison but has been hospitalized because he's experiencing symptoms of schizophrenia! In other words, you have been seeing HIS perspective and what is really happening is quite different. This is wonderful because it helps to explain just how scary mental hospitals can be--particularly if the patient is paranoid and delusional. Very clever and a must for everyone in the mental health field.
