Too political
timothyfosseen-759842 April 2023
First of all, Dr Hooper was in no way arrogant or obnoxious. He was just confident. I don't think he should have been cut. I do think Asher proved himself and showed he was motivated and eager to help. I thought Morgan was super obnoxious compared to Dr Hooper. I did like the Asian guy. I thought he would have been a good pick and agreed with him that Shaun, Claire, Morgan and Alex were unprofessional. I personally wasn't impressed with the lady Doctor that questioned and insulted Dr Andrews. I know Dr Murphy does that, but his autism is a valid excuse for his issues. I normally think Claire is great, but didn't care for her attitude in this episode. I dislike when a show gets too political. A certain amount of that is fine, but if you go too far you can alienate viewers.

Not AS bad if you pay attention from beginning to end!
mitchell_gable19 November 2020
I'm glad I paid attention from start to finish. Definitely a whirlwind of different situations but the remaining resident applicant that were chosen, I liked as well. I'm starting to get a bit irked with Morgan, but her not being able to adjust to her new position has brought her back to her old ways when she first came on. I hope it changes and she settles in but if she's like this the entire season, it'll be hard to handle for me. As for the whole issue with the mansplaining, the first part didn't sit well with me. I think they could have still done it but approach it differently... to me, that part came across as a misunderstanding and both Morgan and Brown reacted out of frustration at each other. As for the second time, I understood it a lot more. But it's weird how the residents argued eagerness as a good skill moving forward for the resident applicants that made it, but it's mansplaining for him. Again though, I understood how it all played out. As for everything else, Murphy and Park to me are a great pair. I'm a little worried with Murphy and Lea's relationship, as in I see Shaun getting played later. Acting from everyone was amazing, and that keeps me watching more despite the 50/50 storyline!

Oh dear

Love watching the straight white males complain about the treatment of the straight white male... Yes it was all a little heavy-handed, but welcome to reality. Apparently the whole show is just feminist leftist propaganda 😂😂

S4.E3 - Too Much Agenda [6/10]
panagiotis199317 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
(S4. E3) My Live Reaction / Review for The Good Doctor Season 4 Episode 3 ''Newbies''. The previous episode was good and I gave it a rating of 8/10. Let's see if this one is better or worse. More covid stuff? Please make it stop. Is it time for new residents? Interesting. The team needs to get bigger now that Melendez is gone. The dude just shared his opinion and they immediately attack him for mansplaining? What does this even mean? Did this newbie just called Dr. Andrews sex-ist? Disgusting. She should leave and never come back. So now there is more drama because Shaun said to Lea that he finds her voice annoying when she talks on the phone? So dumb. This episode kinda sucked. My rating is 6/10.

The Oldies and The Newbies what an incredible mix.
theava-7031019 November 2020
A fresh episode introducing four new characters with more stories to tell. I'm so happy the course is taking the show it reminds me to the first season. Can't wait to see what is next. Totally recommend.

Here we go again
kbrenkb24 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
So... The resident applicant who appeared to be the most respectful and helpful throughout the entirety of the episode and showed no evidence of being obnoxious or full of himself was "the worst"?! What is this rubbish?! I'm so tired of this old trope that all straight white males are the enemy! He was a confident guy, at no stage did he say anything obnoxious or rude and when he was told he was "manslplaining" it was him attempting to help resolve a conflict between two extremely unprofessional doctors having an argument in front of him! This show is quickly becoming trash..

Why does everything have to be so on the nose
mfeierskov28 July 2021
I don't understand what's going on with TV shows these days. The same thing seemingly happened with New Amsterdam. It's not enough to have most of the cast be non white or other minorities, now all sense of subtlety is gone. People are just having arguments about sexism, racism, body image and calling each other out.

I honestly didn't care that it was a minority cast, because the cast was good and the episodes tackled hard and interesting subjects, but if they keep this up, I'm simply going to stop watching. I don't watch TV the be lectured to, it's exhausting and boring.

Why are they doing this
andyjordaan2322 August 2021
This show already has a diverse cast with strong female characters. Why are they shoving feminism down our throats? It feels forced and out of place.

This episode was Sexist to the next level
rupert23918 November 2020
Writers went out of their way to create a cis white male character that they could rag on for PC points. Words like mansplain and interrupting a female coworker by a millisecond was pointed out when they have done that many times in the series multiple times before, but it only became the problem when this character did it. I was interested in this series before, and I will give it another chance, but it has been hard to focus on anything else than the underlying sexist messaging.

What was this??
usuyami_1315 May 2021
Why even mention Covid in the first episodes if you can't follow up on the pre-taped ones? It was painfully obvious this was pre-pandemic and made even more obvious that some scenes of the last couple of episodes were also pre-pandemic, so why even bother? Terrible execution. Also other reviewers are right, the sexism here was over the top, how do you fight sexism with more sexism?

Ridiculous misandric episode as always
Lythas_8529 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
That's interesting how they portrayed the new male guy as supposedly an arrogant sexist guy which he definitely was not.. he was just kinda full of himself with confidence.... like Morgan, maybe? But somehow he was made to be a sexist pig... Ah but it was ok when Edwards was having a consultation with a patient and the resident to be undermined his authority and then later on pretty much called him sexist lol

S4.E3 has the worst line I've ever encountered.
ivaylo-spasoff16 January 2021
I've seen terrible lines and dialogues in movies, but THIS (avoiding spoilers), coming from such a lovely show is just ridiculous. 8:30 into the episode and I was so shocked. I literally dropped everything for 3 minutes, trying to figure out what the hell did I just witness...

Ultimate Turn-Off
bmdbyjrxm3 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I happen to be a woman of color, south east asian (to those saying this is only a white cis male issue)

I was 100% invested into this show for Dr. Murphy's story as an autistic surgeon and his daily life.

I tried to stick to this show even through all the exaggerated wokeness from season 3

Until i just couldn't bear it anymore when Claire and Morgan (two of my favorite characters) were clearly being unprofessional at work in front of the trainees and spewed out the word "mainsplaining".

I'm all for equity. I'm not a feminist, I'm not a meninist, I do believe everyone deserve equal chance at everything. And all these money-grabbing corporations who say they're advocates to minorities, they're just causing more divide among us.

Goodbye to another great series ruined by western political correctness. What a waste.

This episode can be summed up with one word: feminism.
xxJustinn23 November 2020
It's not that this is a terrible episode but the underlying feministic tone and message completely ruin it. If this show continuous pushing this political agenda I will stop watching it.

It's Mainly Anti-White Guys
nickham156 March 2021
I consider myself a progressive, but this was way too much.. They just flat out bullied the white guy. It wasn't even comedic. Things like this hurt the cause...This wasn't it Good Doctor. Dang.

So woke...
Veritas9920 November 2020
So... the only arrogant and obnoxious (this word was heavily repeated) candidate, who was swiftly rejected and eliminated, was a white, straight person.

And the most arrogant, obnoxious, annoying, entitled and self-sufficient character is dr. Reznick - a white, straight character. Who was already eliminated, as surgeon. Unless she suddenly realizes she is anything from LGBTQ++++, I don't see her well in the future.

If I have to continue to listen to a bunch of people whining about made up perceived sexist slights I'm out. We get enough of that ridiculousness on college campuses.

Welcome to Woketopia
talos_valcon22 May 2021
Starting with this episode and continuing on, we must be subjected to constant Woke Liberalism. White People Bad, People of Color Good. Of the newbies being considered, it was no brainer on who wasn't going to be picked. What was a show that was uplifting and showed how a person with disabilities can still prosper is now a lesson on racism.

No mask anymore? What? This episode is in the future?(some of the actors get Covid. What could be the reason..? I vote for stupidity.)

This show goes down. The story couldn't be more boring. But, the dialog is winning the horrible award for sure.

Theyve Jumped the Shark
bohead5117 November 2022
The writers of this show clearly watched a couple of Greys Anatomy episodes for their research. The "DRs" on this show would have lost their licenses long ago, and a couple would have faced criminal charges. No radiologists? Anesthesia taking orders from resident in operating room? Every simple procedure has life-threatening complications?

The unbelievable amount of medical nonsense was almost forgivable d/t the likeability of the characters, but no more. The characters, for whatever reason, have all become unbelievably angry and intolerable. The 2 most arrogant and obnoxious characters reject a person they just met as arrogant?
