Who from Cincinnati Helped With This?
katewestrich1 November 2021
The Bones That Foam had some great weirdness with the oozing, dissolving bones. I loved when the layer over top the bones hardened and you could knock on it like you would a door. A small but funny addition.

But! The big distracting part of this episode for me, and presumably for other people from the greater Cincinnati area, was the use of the Jungle Jim character that *so closely* resembled the real life owner of the Jungle Jim's grocery chain. I can't get over it, but neither can I figure out who helped make that connection happen on screen.

Disappearing Body
mitchrmp27 July 2016
After a body is discovered, the members of the team must figure out who and what happened to the poor man before his body disappears. Booth and Brennan work hard to discover just who is responsible.

There is a strange monkey that seems to live on a person's head, and Booth is enjoying his boy toys with a fancy car (a very funny non-couple moment at the end involves said car).

The lap dancing was a little too much for me...It was gross, especially since Brennan was all excited about watching this happen to Booth and I was a little grossed out with the TMI at the end of the scene.

Overall, a good episodes if a couple parts were taken out.

Another new low

At least forensic part of the story was much better than the last two episodes. But what we gained in science department, we lost in affairs. It seems that Brennan's character took a dive back to her stone age when she wasn't able to have emotions. Her stupid part took control of her logic and forced her to act childish. She wasn't definitely acting like the one we have seen improved through last seasons. Booth character is more close to what we have seen before with a little bit of comic stupidity and less control and punch lines. Specially his excitement over a monkey was a tad too childish. If bones moves more in this direction, it can expect to attract more teen fans and less adult which is revolutionary considering the age of its actors.

Just Not Good

Warning: Spoilers
It took me 3 different attempts to get through this episode when rewatching so if that's not already a sign that it's not great then I don't know what is.

The whole bones foaming thing was really annoying and as much as I love Vincent, he wasn't helping.

The side story of Sweets trying to teach Brennan how to recognise and respond to facial expressions was equally as frustrating, Not to mention that strip club scene which was tragically awkward.

The only redeeming part of the episode is the short scene where Angela explains to Brennan that Booth pretends to be a lot less smart than he actually is so Brennan gets to be the intelligent one in their partnership.

Overall, not a good episode for David Boreanaz's directorial debut on Bones, it's definitely one I skip on rewatches.

An Indian and an Iranian are brothers?

The car salesmen, the brothers Shirazi should be Iranian. But one of them is played by an Indian! Little bit funny I would say!!! The look and the accent would not match.

Basically Dumb
Hitchcoc1 February 2023
I'm pretty aware that when one needs to produce some 25 episodes per season, every show will have its clunkers. This is one of them. First of all, the oozing, steaming bones and explosions are a kind of comedic interlude in a story that pretty much goes nowhere. Then we have the education of Brennan who feels she has to be able to relate to people and turns to Sweets. The business at the strip club is endless and pointless. Booth's inability to stand up is pretty much over the top. By the way, where is his inflexible Christianity in these settings? And why is this scene there anyway. All in all, the whole thing was time wasted.
