A short YouTube video that goes an hour too long.
MikeHunt107511 January 2021
This is brilliant to the type of person who would call a bannana taped to a wall art and buy it, as it could be depicted as filmmakers giving the finger to major movie studios and showing you can make a film with nothing more than 1 actor and the cameramans finger. Well, bravo. Golfers clap.

To the rest if us it's a boring shot of a woman who can't act who has a visit from a finger infront of the camera and is scared of it, makes love to it, misses it and probably gets killed by it... I dunno, I used the last of my remaining brain cells to turn it off.

You'd expect this to appear as a 2 minute clip in a movies dream sequence, or for whatever unknown reason... But to th to make it a feature length?????

It's nothing but a horrible actor, a stupid idea, a lot of air noise and clocks ticking and dumb attempts at cheap piano note scares wrapped up in those stupid "who wrote this garbage?" actions.

Soft core porn, while the camera dangles his finger in front of his camera.
vabhisheksreenivas17 October 2022
A camera I suspect to be an iPhone. This looks like something that should have been on a porn site, or YouTube as a short film without all the erotic scenes. Gave it a 2 star because there were ridiculous moments that got a few laughs out of me. The sudden dramatic synth music whenever the blurry finger popped up in front of the woman was pretty much all the comedy this movie has. Do not be tricked by the horror and comedy tags. All in all, I'm not angry. If this is something, as the other reviewers with suspiciously positive reviews here have been saying, that was made during lockdown due to boredom, props to you. Way to be creative. A little more effort and it could have been something entertainingly ridiculous.

A Tribute gone weird
onuvenzinha12 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This movie shows us a story worthy of a "trash movie", but since it has been made by an indie 'studio' during the pandemic, it is what they could do.

The story in it, an "alien" blurry Finger that comes into a lonely woman's life and has various interactions with her is the least important part to this flick, as the motivation towards the movie production.

In the end it is stated as a tribute to those whose lives were lost to the 2020s' first pandemic, as well as their loved ones.

So we can see the interactions between woman and finger are meant to represent the people that were part of our lives: friends, enemies, lovers that 'were lost' during this event we face as Humankind.

The tribute in itself is an interesting idea, albeit the movie being too long (1 hour of this weird interaction just to in the very end of it making your point clear) and having scenes that unnecessarily tag it as an R rated movie.

It is understandable the appeal that was made as a form of art, since art nowadays is seen as something very subjective, even if some do not agree to it, but it drags on for too long.

Maybe if remade in the short film format it could be more entertaining, or at least some watchers would not be bored by the 'artistic appeal' of trying to translate feelings and emotions on screen.

Horrible softcore porn, pure and simple...
paul_haakonsen11 January 2021
Right, well as I sat down to watch the movie "Attack of the Giant Blurry Finger" I was expecting it to be a goofy and silly horror comedy, especially since it was listed as being a horror comedy. But this was softcore porn, pure and simple.

I managed to endure 15 minutes of the dreadful movie that is "Attack of the Giant Blurry Finger" before I called it quits and went to watch something else. This is without a doubt one of the worst movies I have stumbled upon. If you want to make porn, make porn. Don't dress it up, present it as being a horror comedy and try to pass it off as being a proper movie. But I suppose this was writers Cody Clarke and Chloe Pelletier way into releasing a pseudo-sextape. And wonderfully enough, the only cast members in the movie are Cody Clarke and Chloe Pelletier as well, surprise, surprise.

After 15 minutes of watching a woman wandering around in her apartment, masturbating - without it actually showing anything lewd - then I just had enough. I knew what the rest of the movie would bring, and I needed not to waste my time on such rubbish as this turned out to be. "Attack of the Giant Blurry Finger" was not a horror comedy at all, believe you me. 15 minutes of no dialogue and just some amateurish filming, acting and self-pleasuring, nah, not my cup of tea.

"Attack of the Giant Blurry Finger" was a massive waste of my time and effort, and it has nothing to do with being a properly entertaining movie, not even in the least bit.

I am rating "Attack of the Giant Blurry Finger" a one out of ten stars, solely because it is the lowest possible score to give on IMDb. I would have rated it a zero, if I could, because this "movie" was horribly bad. God awful bad. And I have absolutely no interest in returning to watch "Attack of the Giant Blurry Finger" as it offered nothing in any sense of entertainment or enjoyment for me.

Alt title: Dude Films his Girlfriend for Far Too Long.
tanyatzatmary30 April 2021
She's not hot enough to carry this. Given all his "films" are just him filming his girlfriend in her underwear or naked I can't exactly call this a "movie" but it's not even a YouTube short worth watching.

Homemade short stretch to a full feature
Floated211 December 2022
Given its title and no budget, no one should take this serious. This isn't exactly an actual movie but rather a homemade YouTube short stretched into 60 minutes. Clearly made out of boredom (the ending credits states it was made during the 2020 Covid quarantine).

It is essentially a silent film where there isn't much dialogue at all for the majority of the film- some spoken lines by the lead towards the end but otherwise no real dialogue.

The film does stretch on quite long as it really isn't funny. We see the lead wondering around partial naked and nude for the first half (yet nothing is shown given the blurry finger covering everything). We then see her fighting the finger.

Then final 15 or so minutes once the finger is killed (by paper cut), we do see some actual explicit scenes- Chloe in the shower for a lengthy sake).

Overall this film runs for an hour and essentially isn't a movie. Don't take it too serious and although it is different and bizarre, it still isn't great. An acquired taste.

Loved it!

Knowing that they've done it with an iPhone and their apartment I can say the idea, the sound effects, the lighting and the acting of Chole was interesting..

Loved it! Would recommend..

Creative genius
kaylajade-724803 January 2024
This film is actually pretty amazing, it's low budget but high quality. Seems it wouldn't be easy to make such a subject be fear provoking yet fun but Cody Clarke does just that! His creativity and direction is superb! He makes you interested in every aspect of the film, which when it comes to the doe-eyed brunette beauty in the movie (as seen on the cover) is easy, she is captivating! I would have to say this goes to say for all the work from Cody Clarke... enthralling! He takes seemingly simple subjects and reels you in and delights you! No Shark is excellent and my favorite of his would definitely be Mute Date. Bravo to this unique film maker 🙌🏻

If you're going to self isolate...
sahlgoode9 January 2021
....you may as well make a movie.

...and what a movie!!! I don't know what I was expecting, but it certainly wasn't this. Bravo for turning what we've all had to endure during these hard times, and making it into something wonderful. Yeah sure Chloe looks great, but the apartment is quite the attention grabber as well. Those antique nicknacks strewn throughout the place captivated my attention. I loved the subtle reference to the Flying Spaghetti Monster. The only thing missing from this flick was Majestic 12.

...or was it?

So ridiculous
poedsahierke10 January 2021
I had many laugh out loud moments to say the least. I tried before starting the movie to imagine how this was all going to play out, and needless to say I would never have been able to come close. It's way far out there, but for me very entertaining. I'm not familiar with these two creative kids, but I like their style. Kudos.

Well..... What Do You Expect?
betchaareoffendedeasily17 February 2021
Alright, watch the trailer(which contains Chloe in underwear)! You'll get an idea of what to expect. Much to Cody's chagrin probably, I am gonna agree and say it is basically a softcore porn, you just can't pretend it isn't, if I say otherwise, people will get a bit of a shock and be disgusted, if you go in knowing what to expect, you can decide if you watch to watch it. Yes, it is essentially a silent film with almost no dialog, but I see that as an asset, and it sets it apart, the music is very well used and it is never boring. I enjoy his films, I have watched all but one, at the same time, I am never going to pull punches. No one can get better at their craft if we throw softballs in my reviews.

This is Cody's best film technically speaking(I'm not saying it's the best script-wise, Ramekin, The DVD, or Mute Date get that award), in terms of editing, sound is really good, lighting(no supplemental lighting used) is very good, the silent nature of the film is probably also one of the most compelling parts, it conveys a lot without saying almost anything. I would agree it is a comedy, it is absurdist, to say the least. It definitely is not meant to be taken at face value, so if you choose to watch this, then be aware of that, and don't take it literally.

Given that, I am going to have to say, I like the idea in and of itself(not the sex), it is clever, zany, and silly and original. I do get the subtext, it could be an analogy for a lot of things. I saw it as an allegory for abuse. I also felt like the Blurry Finger wasn't even real, it was like her interpretation of her bad and disintegrating relationship, by the end, this is the feeling I got from the film.

Unlike others, I don't think the movie overstays it's welcome, it is only 60 minutes, a couple of his other films clock in at about 100 minutes, I think the idea merits a feature-length film, . What I don't like about the length, is that about 30 minutes of this is essentially sex or rather a good portion, and yes, I had to skip some parts because I do not watch films with explicit sex, call me prude, but that is just how I am, it doesn't matter if it is with an alien blurry finger or normal humans. If that doesn't bug you, or sounds great, well, there you go! I am not marking the movie down based on that part of the film fyi, but focusing on it's overall content and execution, which I think is very well done.

I give Cody and Chloe props for making this in quarantine, I don't discount what they did, but that doesn't mean I think it is necessarily a great movie. The idea is A+, the technical aspects are great, but the execution of the story is wanting. So much more, even in the confines of the house could have been done with this, and still included some sex, so I am critical of the amount of run time the sex takes up, yes. There will be people who watch this just for the sex, and given this film hasn't been out long, and it has garnered more reviews than many of Cody's films, even if I don't like a lot of it, it has clearly struck a chord for better or worse, so there you go!

Great movie to watch with kids for Christmas. The plot is unbelievable. Camera's movements - you'll never seen anything like this. The best movie you've ever watched.
