S01Sp19 - "Cursed": more than just a hint of "monster of the week", as our heroic team come to the aid of King Gregor and his independent Kingdom which borders D'Hara.
"My kingdom is being terrorised by a vicious beast which is ravaging our countryside" - lines delivered with a straight face by King Gregor, who has formed an alliance with the witch Shota in her land of Agadon Reach.
There are nice transformations of King Gregor into the Calthrop (a beast) and back; some excellent stunt work (characters thrown through the air in slow-motion, demonstrating how to land safely).
Kahlan demonstrates the Con Dar blood-lust when she is threatened by "the beast", necessitating her locking herself in the Rada'Han whilst she learns to control her powers. There is plenty of action - and cartoon-levels of violence with very little obvious injury to the participants.
At the end, of course, another part of the Quest is revealed. An enjoyable 42-minutes of well-acted, involving and entertaining hokum.
