In this first season of 'Legend of the Seeker' we didn't see many "monster of the week" episodes, usually story and plot of each episodes collides with story and plot of whole season in first place, and that means defeating Darken Rahl and the D'Harans. This episode also contains D'Harans as usual, but it focuses more on its own plot and story, a king cursed by a witch to protect his kingdom forever from D'Harans which would mean protecting her place also. And of course the only thing that can prevent thousands of innocent kingdom inhabitants and kill an awful beast called Calthrope is the one and only Sword of truth! Episode contains good solid acting, decent appearances from guest actors, some twists in the story of this single episode as well as an important twist of the season overall.9/10
