Weak, but not bad.
'A Glass of Warm Ed' doesn't have much in terms of plot. It's just Ed eating a lot. The fact that he almost ate Jimmy was funny, though. And the part where Edd and Eddy stayed over at Ed's house was sweet.

The animation style appears ugly and childish but is in fact extremely sophisticated. Not as smooth as in the second season but much more interesting than Family Guy or Bob's Burgers. The characters have volume and presence. You can see that in the scene where Eddy clambers onto Ed's stomach. It all feels tangible and three-dimensional. The characters have wavy outlines because the creator noticed people made little movements even when they were doing nothing, which is incredibly inspired. The characters are definitely easier on the eyes than David Jason's BFG. Nothing gets me more invested in a cartoon than good drawings. It can be argued that the Warner Brothers cartoons were somewhat "ugly", too. They did capture human expressions that simpler and more contemporary cartoons wouldn't have dared. The timid, bug-eyed Edd is just adorable. He reminds me of some character from a classic film or cartoon.

I love how Eddy is not a morning person. I can relate to that. When he gets rudely awakened his first line is "Who turned off the sun?"

As for Flea-Bitten Ed, I used to get somewhat annoyed by Rolf. I thought he was just an Indian stereotype. But on a second look I find that his accent is less Apu Nahasapeemapetilon and more Wally Walrus. He's from a foreign country but it's never made clear where. Anyway, he's one of the characters who's based on Antonucci himself; Antonucci is Canadian of Italian descent. His parents were first-generation immigrants, and his family would always come out with strange proverbs. This childhood experience made up part of Rolf's characterization.

Ed floating in the air recalls a Three Stooges gag where Moe gets his suit filled up with air and starts floating.

Ed gets fat.
hsp-548688 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
He does. In A Glass Of Warm Ed, we see him getting fat. Oh and for some idiotic reason, he inflates like a balloon in the following episode as well. So the first segment starts with the moron Ed eating everything up Jughead-style. (I guess he learned that from JJ). So Double D and Eddy notice he's eating everything up in the cul de sac. We see Eddy laugh at Ed's shenanigans which include eating a chain of sausages, drinking milk, and wiping and eating toast across his face. Then we see Ed eating up Double D's cactus Jim (How do you eat a cactus with all the thorns??) and at one point we see Ed's buttons burst out of his pajama top from his giant gut. Then at one scene Ed is on his bed with ropes around it to prevent him from sleepeating. He then eats so much that he becomes immobile and stuck in this window. The next day all the cul de sac kids are starving because that stupid moron ate all of their food and the food he ate comes out of his mouth without being chewed and that's the end (Ed). So Flea-Bitten Ed (Why not make a clever pun out of that name like Driver's Ed or MEDicine) starts off with the three dudes at the foreign stereotype(Rolf)'s house and while he is gone, he wants the three title characters watching his animals. Ed is in charge of taking care of the bunnies and unfortunately he has an allergy to bunnies, making his eyes watery and inflating (Who inflates like a balloon during an allergic reaction??). Double D and Eddy see Ed inflated on the ceiling and they tie a rope to his body which has blue bumps (Apparently, he must've chewed up the gum Willy Wonka made that turned Violet Beauregarde into a blueberry, so I guess he learns from Willy Wonka too. ) In the next scene, the Bart Simpson-looking moron is roped to the floor and Eddy and Double D are trying to heal Ed from his allergies rubbing itch cream on the bumps on his stomach. Then Ed sneezes bouncing his balloon body across the room. Then his allergies are cured at the end of the episode, and I don't remember what happens. I don't watch to rewatch these episodes again because of the ugly animation/art style, so this is the end of the review. 2/10
