In tribute to the late Richard Dawson, I decided to view "Family Feud: Three's Company vs. Love Boat" on YouTube
tavm4 June 2012
Richard Dawson died a couple of days ago so I decided to honor him by watching some of his "Family Feud" eps on YouTube. This was the last part of an All-Star primetime special in which the winners from the first round-"The Love Boat" (Gavin MacLeod, Fred Grandy, Lauren Tewes, Ted Lange, Bernie Kopell)-went against the winners of the second round-"Three's Company" (John Ritter, Audra Lindley, Joyce DeWitt, Richard Kline, Norman Fell). The only survey question asked was: "Name an occupation on Sunday" which had 10 answers on the board. "The Love Boat" cast correctly guessed about 4 or 5 answers before their three strikes leaving "Three's Company" for the steal which they did. So that got Kline and Fell on Fast Money. Kline gave very good answers so it seemed a cinch for Fell to get to 200 points but his first two replies to these questions-"Besides G, name a movie rating" "PR" (really, Norman?!), "Name an important American city" "Cleveland"-got him 0 points each. But when his last answer was revealed, he indeed got past the required number of points which got Ritter to kiss Ms. Lindley when the victory music was played. Anyway, loved seeing this segment but I would have really loved to see the whole hour-long special it was a part of. Maybe one day I'll get the DVD set of these "All-Star Family Feud" specials. This will probably be it on my Richard Dawson tribute reviews. Until then...

I'm honoring the late Richard Dawson by reviewing a "Family Feud" ep of his starting with "Love Boat vs. Eight Is Enough 2"
tavm3 June 2012
With yesterday the day Richard Dawson died, I thought I'd look at YouTube and watch one of his "Family Feud" shows. The one I'm reviewing is the second time he had the cast of "The Love Boat" (Gavin MacLeod, Fred Grandy, Lauren Tewes, Ted Lange, Bernie Kopell) against that of "Eight Is Enough" (Dick Van Patten, Lani O'Grady, Susan Richardson, Grant Goodeve, Laurie Walters). Among the survey questions was "Name a famous Italian singer" of which there was eight on the board. I was surprised that Dean Martin wasn't the first (or second or third) mentioned by any of the contestants. In fact, when Ms. O'Grady finally said him, she wasn't sure if he was or not! Richard made that humorous when he said "Do bears sleep in the woods?" I also liked it when Kopell did a Stan Laurel impression with Dawson doing the same thing. It's the "Love Boat" gang that won with Ms. Tewes and Grandy going for Fast Money. They didn't reach enough points for 200 but it was a nice try. I think I'll watch another one that also involves "The Love Boat" now...

John Ritter and Audra Lindley's passionate kiss at the end
lsadsmail4 October 2014
Did John Ritter have any affair with Audra Lindley? At the end of this special Family Feud episode they kissed too passionately (it certainly didn't look as a regular colleagues' kiss). The video is available in YouTube. I have searched in other sources but it doesn't mention anything regarding this matter. Perhaps that was the way they used to interact with each other in the cast. By the time Ritter was approx. 28 and single and Lindley was approx. 58 and married, but divorced a couple of years later. As with any personal information, there is room for many speculations, however there might be readers who know the answer and could also provide a reference to back it up and make sure is not a mere speculation or personal assumption. Thanks in advance.
