Three love stories are told in Simpsonian style
atomius30 July 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I just saw this ep on Tuesday and remembered about how at IMDb they have individual episode commenting. The basic premise of this episode is that Marge and Homer get stuck in a love tunnel ride at a carnival, the trip to which is Homer's idea of a valentines day present to Marge, and three love stories are told with Simpsons characters replacing the original ones. It's an alright episode, but i'm not too big on 'tell a story', 'flashback', 'futureflash' or 'alternate universe' episodes (with the exception of the completely non canon treehouse of horror episodes). the first and last stories are real ones whilst the second is a Disney story. It's not a bad episode but hardly the best of season 19.

Love Is All Around The Simpsons
Gerardrobertson6113 March 2018
This was a good episode with 3 different stories of love, however there was a weak link in one of the stories. The first two, Bonnie and Clyde and Lady and The Tramp were brilliant and back to the Simpsons of the early 90's, the Sid and Nancy story we could have done without, there are plenty of other couples they could have used and not had the drug reference. Apart from that, I really enjoyed this episode and the parody of Lady and the Tramp was brilliant.

Better Than the Last Anthology Episode
e_daneva21 December 2023
Love, Springfieldan Style was an okay episode. There have been 12 other Season 19 that I have watched, and there was 5 bad, 4 okay, 1 good, and 3 really good episode. This episode obviously falls in the okay category. This anthology episode was better than the dreadful " The Wettest Story Ever Told ". I feel like a common theme for the anthology episodes at this point is the last story is the worst. I feel the same things for Treehouse of Horror at this point too. There are 3 stories, and I will give a mini review for every story. Let's start

Story #1, Bonnie and Clyde. This was an okay story. It was pretty interesting at the beginning with some funny jokes, but I feel like it just ended in the middle of the action, which I didn't like. The story didn't feel rushed though, which is a relief. In all, I give this story a 6.6.

Story #2, Shady and the Vamp. This was a good story. It was funny and interesting, and it was a decent parody of Lady and the Tramp. This is my favorite story out of the three. I give this a 7.3 out of 10.

Story #3, Sid and Nancy. This is my least favorite story. It just doesn't feel right. I give this a 5.8 out of 10.

In all, for this episode, I give it a 6.4 out of 10.

Simpsons Style Love Stories are the Funniest Kind,
lesleyharris301 July 2014
Love, Springfieldian Style is a fantastic Simpsons episode with three well written storyline's and an ton of very funny scenes.I really enjoyed the Bonnie and Clyde story, the Lady and the Tramp parody was definitely my favourite, but the Sex Pistols story was definitely a weak point on the episode,I didn't find the use of chocolate as an illegal drug funny and they certainly took it to far even though it wasn't funny to begin with, but I did really like seeing British versions of the characters, particularly Nelson was hilarious. The Lady and the Tramp storyline was hilarious and nothing like anything they've done on the show before, the musical number was very nice and they also told their own story more so than making it the exact same as the classic Disney movie.Love, Springfieldian Style is a very enjoyable Simpsons episode.

While trapped in a tunnel of love on Valentines day,Homer and Marge tell each other three romance stories while they wait.

Not great in my opinion

Three love stories, retold 'Simpsons' style.

I don't like this sort of episode, so unfortunately while there were some nice moments, this wasn't for me.
