A good start, a boring middle, and an average finish

It starts with the escort company fighting off robbers. They lose. The robbers find their lot is a child. The escorts fight back and retrieve the child. The fight resumes next morning at a tea house. Chiang Nan does his fight sequence with the child on his back the entire time - no dolls. Quite ambitious that the first fifteen minutes of this movies is pretty much non-stop action. Yet, not a dart was thrown. After walking and talking a bit our guy and girl are attacked by another gang. They end up separated and our guy makes it to a house and finally gets that kid off his back. Bad news is he was blinded by some white powder. This is the point where the movie gets all bogged down in the drama, as typical of Taiwan movies of the time. My copy is a typical VHS size and quality digital file with no English. The good part is that it is easy to follow the story despite the language barrier. The opening was good but the middle boring and the end was average.
