More slapstick than I've seen in previous episodes, this one was quite funny, Alan falling off the ladder, walking around plastered in paint, pure slapstick.
Is it me, or is there a touch of The Victor Meldrew's about Alan, it's like he's single handedly, grumpily trying to take on the world, upset by everyone and everything. That scene with the brick, post DIY shop, that's very much one foot in the grave, as was the graffiti on the car.
My gran used to make me eat disgusting puddings drenched in condensed milk, is there anything more revolting on this planet?
