Amy is depressed about being single until her old boyfriend Rusty shows up from back home and proposes to her. The B-plot has Dot selling What a Life beauty products as a side gig. The C-plot has Nancy dragging Howard to a seminar in San Francisco.
It's been quite a while since we've had a spotlight episode for Amy and this is the only Amy story of Season 4. There are some funny jokes about Amy's sister having to get married because she got pregnant. Amy and Rusty have been sweet on each other since third grade and were King and Queen of the Prom.
Jan assumes hostess duties in Nancy's absence but her dress is actually not too dated compared to the garish atrocities we normally see Nancy wearing. It is cute when Sonny refers to Jan as "Nancette". Howard and Nancy return early and he is furious because despite it only being a 2-hour seminar, she rented the Honeymoon suite for the whole weekend.
Watch for the scene when Sonny tells everyone he bought all of Dot's product and says it's an aphrodisiac. Gail Edwards makes a hilarious face in the background behind him, but it's easy to miss.
