The Show Finds It's Groove!

Warning: Spoilers
#1 Morris Day y'all. Morris Day for real. This show finds it pocket here. Idiosyncratic, obsessive, driven. The episode is a general tribute to Prince and it works on all counts. Worshipful, but understand the ridiculousness of the diminutive sex god figure. Blink it and you'll miss Steven Spielberg's daughter as Liz Giant doing a solid Stevie Nicks. Rob Haze carries this episode and does it with gusto! The Beat Tight Face is Sherman's Showcase doing SNL when it was at it's best. Universal, well observed and off without overstaying it's welcome. The Purple Rain pastiche "China City", I would honestly watch. Just perfect. Craig Ski may be the only weakness, but the song and performance are meant to be bad, so it plays, it stays. Big finale, "Charade" brings about the Four Horsemen as his guitar gently weeps. Just stellar writing, performance and execution.
