Can Cameron be trusted?
Tweekums21 February 2010
Warning: Spoilers
After an exciting episode where we saw John's uncle Derek Reese was rescued from custody and a terminator things quieten down a bit in this episode. Derek is seriously wounded and Sarah's ex Charley Dixon is called to help, understandable he has a lot of questions about where she has been and why she disappeared, while he is obviously shocked when he learns what Cameron is robot his reaction is more restrained than you'd expect from most people. While undergoing treatment Derek has flashbacks to the future where we see how when he he was captured he met creator of Skynet Andy Goode who we learn was killed by Derek so clearly Derek's trip back has changed the future in some way.

This episode had some good action set in the future although there was little sense of danger as we know Derek must survive those scenes. There was some tension however in seeing whether or not he would survive his wounds in the present. The main question this episode raised for me was whether or not Cameron can be trusted after she lies to Sarah about fully destroying the terminator who was after Derek; she destroys the body but keeps his control chip.

Terminator:The Sarah Connor Chronicles-Dungeons & Dragons
Scarecrow-8810 January 2011
Warning: Spoilers
This episode focuses on two major story lines--it shows us the future, events which lead Derek to the moment he would be sent by John into the past to perhaps stop the apocalypse while the other has Charlie learning about the secrets of Skynet and the exoskeleton Terminators threat, having to come to terms with why Sarah left him. During the flashbacks, we see Kyle for the first time and Derek is kidnapped by a damaged T-8000, wondering later why his brother "vanished". John learns who Derek is to him and ponders telling him of their relation. John will also lend his blood in a transfusion for Derek so he can live(while under, Derek relives those past events I mentioned earlier). There's also a questionable act involving Cameron which raises suspicion on her part as it pertains to the removed chip of the T-8000 from the previous episode while she prepares to completely destroy the Terminator. The T-8000 Terminator's arm is found by agent Ellison and must be recovered or else it can still be used as a technological breakthrough if placed in the wrong hands. Also a major development in the plot includes Andrew Goode and how he relates to Derek which answers a puzzling question from the previous episode in regards to the Turk inventor's murderer.

Back to the Future...
Xstal8 August 2022
Pieces of the puzzle bemuse and entangle, as future events rewind, replay and give some angle, as to how people are framed, there purposes and aims, many threads are pulled apart, to tantalise and dangle.

Dungeons & Dragons was another cool episode of "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles"
tavm13 March 2008
Warning: Spoilers
This episode begins when the last one ended: With Charley attempting to fix Derek Reese who can't lay still because he thinks Cameron wants to harm him. We then see flash-forwards of the future he came from with Kyle, his brother and the father of John Connor with Sarah, and other rebels trying to avoid the Skynet machines that flash lights on them. We see them get captured and chained in an abandoned house and then somewhere down the road, Kyle disappears, presumably to where Sarah lived before John was born...Back in the present, Sarah tells Charley everything (well, almost. He figures on his own Kyle's connection with John) and while he doesn't understand, he accepts. He does think that Cameron, while hot on the outside, is a "very scary robot" on the inside as he sees her about to burn the exoskeleton of the Terminator from the last episode. We also once again see the part from his head that she puts in her pocket. What's up with that? Back in Derek's flash-forward, he's encountering Cameron here who is also in the protect mode there but because of his harsh treatment by other machines immediately tries to shoot but is prevented so from a superior. After demanding a few times, he finally gets to see future John but he looks like his younger self. That's because by this point we flash back to the present with that John waking Derek up and telling him what a great hero his brother was without revealing his relation to him with respect to his mother. In the last flash-forward scene, Derek and his comrades are teleported to the present Los Angeles naked where the ruins they came from are replaced by the still-standing buildings from perhaps a time before any of them were even born. Oh, and before that, we find out that Andy Goode was chained with Derek and Derek actually killed him when he went to his room. With that, this episode ends...Another awesome episode with some cool gore scenes that lives up to the "Viewer Discretion Advised" warning that always appears in the beginning of this program. Compelling use of closeups and lighting for the future segments and good exposition dialogue between Charley and Sarah. By the way, Sarah looks particularly luminous in those close-ups. Is Cameron's mentioning of some machines "going bad" a foreshadowing of what is going to happen to her especially after getting some parts from the destroyed Terminator following her statement that "all parts must be destroyed"? (or was that Sarah that said that?) Oh well, since I don't want my head to keep on spinning (or exploding!), I'll just say Dungeons & Dragons was another excellent episode of "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles".

Not disappointing at all! I like how they are linking everything to the original movies. Really. Well done. Let's see if you can keep it going.

Reasonable Only
claudio_carvalho2 February 2009
John calls the EMT Charley Dixon to help Derek Reese, who is bleeding and near death, needing a blood transfusion. John donates his blood and saves Derek, while Charley asks for explanations to Sarah. Meanwhile Derek dreams with his last days in the future, when his group was captured and tortured by the machines.

In this reasonable episode, Sarah discloses her knowledge of the fate of the human beings to Charlie. Derek recalls in flashback what has happened with his team. Cameron destroys the skeleton of a Terminator, but keeps a part hidden with her. My vote is six.
